I've never done great at iStock - probably because of the 7 sites I submit too, the port there is the smallest by far. But in the past, they were always a solid middle tier. Since January, they have been the bottom of the pile - lower than 123, Bigstock or Canstock - about half of the second lowest producer. While they have shuffled the search in the past and my sales have gone up and down - I've never had a slump like this there in 6 years. The other six are doing well and even hitting a BME here or there.

That sort of stuff happens at iStock. Last Jan - May I was stuck in the doldrums for no obvious reason (I couldn't blame best match) then sales came back with a rush in June, and stayed uppish other than a slump in October, weirdly, until May. May was saved by a very few very good-for-me days, among a lot of poor days, and there's nothing every vaguely saving June so far. I don't have a clue why this happens within one port.

iStock is constantly shuffling the deck with Best Match algorithm tweaks so expect fluctuating sales. But if you are not exclusive, expect fluctuating crap sales.

Indeed, sales are very bad, IS going from 2nd best earner to middle tier for me.

First sale in a couple of days and it turns out to be one of the famous .09 ones. I can't keep uploading there. It's not worth the few minutes a day I spend on it.

That looks pretty bad. Sorry to see it. Maybe you should consider leaving the exclusive crown.

I'd suggest diversifying from the 'window washing' theme as it looks like your old sellers are doing fine.  No need to do more of the same.  Also, textures are never big sellers.

Maybe more 'window washing' images are needed? Why give up on the successful formula? Could also diversify into other subjects that need 'washing' like doors, cars, dogs, etc. The potential for 'washing' is amazing if you think about it.

Thank you for your kind words of support. Probably have to leave exclusivity. Always
had been the best place for me...

Sean, Gostwyk

Windows Washing has given me great joy but I fear that the subject has been exhausted. I have some photos of car cleaning that have worked reasonably well. Velvet Textures have not gone bad ... I guess the problem lies, after all, more to my lack of creativity that in the market situation. Thank you both for your suggestions :)

Luis

A really enlightening message, Luis. Probably end up leaving the exclusivity or may be not. Who knows... ;D
