YAY

Finally got into iStock.  Its about time too.  I was waiting because I feel so left out since everyone (even nubes) get in on iStock before me (being involved with this for 3 months and not being in, gets you down) but I'm finally in.  Hopefully I can be successful on it - any tips for them?

Whats with this 30 uploads per week business?  I'm not sure what thats all about...will that change for me?  I have like 300 photos that could potentially meet the iStock bill.  :(

How are you all doing with iStock?   What are your photo niches?

istock is a good seller. I think you will be happy

uploading is a big pain in the butt though...
and 30 images/week limit is also a big pain.

Yes Istockphoto is a really good seller. I have only something just over 30 images on there and am earning this month as much as on Dreamstime with 300+ images. Normaly it is slightly lower than DT. Bad month on DT..
Bad I guess it depends which niche images you have. But even the best images from me which are non-niche images have no Dls at all. So it depends..
My niche photos are from Antarctica..

Yes, Istock is really slow in getting the images approved, I only got 8 approved, still has 21 on the que, of course I only started exploring microstock since July 8th, joined DT,FT,  Istock,( was rejected the initial 3, then got accepted the next 8 out of 9 ), but rejected by SS(50%) and BST(100% rejection).

So far with 55 images at FT, 4 sales, 15 more pending
21 images with DT no sales 30 more pending
35 pending with BST, nothing approved yet
8 online with IS, 21 pending

Sure it takes a lot of patience to build up your portfolio.

Hi beisea,

I would recommend you to forget BST and focus on Stockxpert, which is much more convenient. That is from my point of view. I think Stockxpert will come more and more. And it has easy upload, fast acceptance, good prices and paying customers. But maybe others are more lucky with BST.

Thanks, really I got very frustrated with BST, it took 14 days to reject all of my initial 12, while FT took them all, and IS took 5 out 6 ( i did not submit all to IS since the initial rejection from BST ), now have to wait another 14 days to wait for my second batch.
Maybe I will try Stockxpert or 123, which one is better?

Someone else has to answer that, I do not submit to 123. The comments in the Forum about it are not exiting enough, to convince me to do the effort  :)

Definately submit to StockXpert highest payout.

123rf personally I like them, their upload system is EZ (if the java loader works on your computer) at least 22c for subscription sales and 50% of the credit price for the other sales.

They payment system sucks $100 minimum and you have to wait a couple weeks as they calculate their subscription price at the end of the month.

At the moment I have earned more with 123 than istock though I have 4 times the number of photos with 123.

But iStock hate me and I hate them back - but don't get me started.

I have heard it takes time to start earning with Istock not only the 30/week upload limit but the fact you have to wait for images to get rated added to lightboxes before they start earning that whoopping 20%

Clearly time for my medicine

I will say submit to Xpert first .. it takes a while to get accepted. then submit to 123 as well.

As for BST, i suppose its bigstock? I will suggest continue with it since their payout is at 30USD, it is easier to achieve. They have become much stricter and SLOWER in their review process. But I have no complaints as what I usually say, just keep those $$$ rolling in.

Yeah Big Stock why not the $30 payout is the best thing about their site also they accept small pics and you still get your 50c, just in case you had to do a serious crop.
