Well, after spending just two and a half days in 'Sin City' I can unequivocally state that Las Vegas loves to use IS images.
Yes, that town of wretched excess, unbridled kitsch and glitz galore. A city where a bowl of Vietnamese Pho' soup ($5.00 almost anywhere else) goes for $16.00. This most over-the-top place on the planet has gone 'on the cheap' and plastered microstock all over the place ;D
I saw at least seven IS shots used throughout the shopping plazas where I was staying. They were printed large as life and plastered on walls. These were fashion and spa type images, as you might imagine.
The real shocker came as I was riding down the strip in a taxi.
There on a giant LCD screen flashed an enormous IS image, soon to be replaced by text exclaiming what a wonderful time I would have at such and such club/lounge and then another image and on and on.

Well at the moment it seems to be a better bet playing five-card-stud at one of their tables.

Maybe, but I'm not a gambler. I went there to accompany my wife for a business conference that she was attending.
Franky, I stay as far away from 'Lost Wages' Nevada as I possibly can most of the time. :)

I assume from the wink that you are just kidding.
But truthfully, the images that I was referring to are all from IS exclusives whose work I am quite familiar with 8)
Its a pretty good bet that there are a lot of other images out there that were also from micros. Its just that I am not all
that familiar with everyones work. Waaaaay too many shots out there in circulation for me to memorise everything ;D

Of coarse they do there is not a city in America that is more concerned with the bottom line. If you could figure out a way to sell lots of Micro stock to Brokers and accountants you would make millions.

Miltimillion dollar casinos pay a dollar for a photo from microstock to show on the LCD screens. How stupid do photograpers feel when they get robbed like this for their work. Peanuts are for monkeys but photographers get peanuts for microstock brag about getting cheated with low pay and are happy. Maybe you can get a book to buy a picture for 49p and brag about that to. Don't wake up the microstock sites need you.

Robbed? Were images used within the license terms? Because if they are used correctly, no one can say he was robbed, as it was his own decision to upload images to the sites. We can discuss if this is ok when sites like DT and FT introduced subs models, but anyway it is up to the photographer to stay at the site or not.

one more will start to hate me for the example I'm gonna bring today
I used to work for a professional advertising photography studio. My boss was shooting a beverage commercial and the graphic designer have used one of the shutterstock cherry picture along with commissioned product shot in final design. Do you think my boss has felt frighten by microstock overtake in the industry because they didn't ask him to shoot simple cherry picture as well. Well no, because he knows he will be all ways called to shoot products and will be paid very well for that. He doesn't dedicate himself for generic shots of object isolated on white. But once again he didn't feel threatened because he knows his price and because he is very professional. So... in-your-face. Do assignments if you want more than peanuts for your shots or don't complain that nobody wants to pay thousands for your "cherries isolated on white" kind of shots.

What worth a photo??? Make a search for photo in google... trillionz or results probably. Why a simple photograph would cost the same as a LCD television good daumn :) I have 2 LCD TV at home and around 3400 photoz in my computer that I never look at. My LCD screen worth the money.
I am bit tired of the photographers who tell everybody they are genius with a conceptual name like CHE (from che guevara) who claim that their photography work worth the same as a Picaso. There have been maybe a couple of great artist like Picaso and there's 1 000 000 professional photographers in the world. Now compete

I guess I should mention that the LCD screen shot was not an 'isolated on white' bunch of fruit ;)
In reality it was a very professionally shot and edited photo of a beautiful young blond woman having the time of her life.
I made an assumption that the LCD shot was purchased in XXL size so that it would hold its resolution on a huge screen. Maybe I am mistaken about this, since I really don't know what sort of image quality those monster screens require.

Today I discovered quite by accident that a medium 6MP image works just fine on a huge movie screen. Here's Photoshop guru Scott Kelby dancing on stage in front of one of my photos!
