Anyone else getting error messages when going to "account management" today and errors when pulling in data with deepmeta? And nobody else has seen a significant difference between their download count and the sales reported over March?
Edit: Errors has resolved it self, they fixed it. I think you were still all in bed :) But the question about difference downloads versus sales remain open.

I think it's a specific partner not a broad area where most of the computer people are. That's how we know (or assume?) Canva is the Australia customer. It's someone who uses a single streaming subscription or has the on demand subscription for within their design software online. Whatever it is, pennies per use paid to Getty and fractions paid to us.

I mean, the partner pays 0.03091 per use and we get 15% which is 0.00464 of that. Now that's exciting...  ::)

After a truly shocking Feb, my March was my second-best month on the rolling graph, though of course not a patch on the GODs. Total swings and roundabouts.

Wow second best month. Istock still works for you?
My best months at istock have been in 2009 or so.
But nowadays i do only few stock photography. Getting more and more in wedding photography.

So I need to pin some of my own images and see if they show in Connect? Interesting idea. But for all I know, it's only for the original pin and we can't click bait them into money.  ;D

Wow second best month. Istock still works for you?
My best months at istock have been in 2009 or so.
But nowadays i do only few stock photography. Getting more and more in wedding photography.
"Second best month on the rolling graph" - so in the last couple of years  - "not a patch on the Good Old Days"
And February was truly dire.
Luckily, I can eat without my iS earnings.

That's the scary thing about SS....what if the "big sales" do run out. Photog's earnings would really plummet.

That sure beats my paltry 1,097 Connect sales reported in March.

Isn't March some kind of annual reporting of Connect?

You are right, in the march report around 20th April you get the annual connect sales - most of them are placed on 30th and 31st of December, if I remember it right.

Haha, that's not how it works. But I think you can pin your own image, drive traffic to your portfolio that way, and hope someone thinks "* that's a neat picture from Pete here" and goes through the hassle of licensing it. I'm sure the agencies would love you to do that.   ;)

Some more guessing around, considered Connect is PPV:
What might happen in case of Pinterest, any other social media or advertising platform, is that someone licenses an image via connect, and uses it to promote something. It would be a safe way to test the waters, without having to spend a lot of money on licensing. If the post goes viral (or the ad shows a high conversion rate during the test run and the customer decides to increase the budget), then the customers starts paying for the license, but also gets the return of the campaign that reached a lot of potential customers. If the posts or ad fails, then the customer gets away with it without having to spend money on licensing. Same probably applies to web development for low traffic hit or miss sites, news articles with low expected traffic or anything else that's too risky or not worth it to buy a regular license for because the customer is very unsure about the success of whatever they are creating. 

So what I think/guess, that Connect is: a high volume of low volume usage.
At least, that's my interpretation of my connect sales.
I might be wrong of course.

Can't remember it either, but it was already around when I actively started contributing a few years back, and I too only noticed it further down the road when I had a deeper look in my sales reports.

The discussion about connect pops up every now and then here, and it's... well, a lot of talk about not even pennies.  ;)

I'm pretty sure that was pre-ESP, so not in the current forums.
It comes up in their forums regularly, but  searching 'connect' throws a lot of mentions within posts of 'connection' to the front of the listings, and if there's a way of searching only on topic line, I can't find it.

It's generally believed that the big annual 'sale' reporting is via Pinterest, but I'm not sure if that's ever been confirmed.

Correct, there are Connect sales all year long, just that there's a big batch now and then and it appears that someone reports in April. Makes sense that Pinterest could be the US California and Canva is Australia. Pinterest is headquartered in San Francisco, CA.

Deep Meta you can still select Connect sales for the graphs and charts.

Franky does a nice job and works hard. Getty just took away access and features. Thanks Mr. Getty
