"I want to give my fellow contributor a heads up about two things.

First, I've found one of my Vetta/Getty images being redistributed on an HD wallpaper website. I found it using Google's Search-by-image. I would encourage you to periodically search for your images this way. You never know what you might find.

The second thing I wanted to pass along concerns how I believe this particular image was obtained. Apparently we have a program with Microsoft that permits them to purchase a special license and redistribute our images. A couple of months this image received a large EL through Getty. Shortly afterwards I found the image on Microsoft’s site, as a downloadable Windows 7 wallpaper and as part of a downloadable Windows 7 theme."

"In my case, my photo was turned into an illustration and then put on the Microsoft site. I thought only the Copyright owner, and by contract the end users, were the only ones allowed to modify a photo (I will have to go read all the agreements again). So did iStock, or Microsoft, or who, make the (illegal?) modifications?"

"We have 2 newsletters this month. The second will be beefy and filled with all sorts of information and clarity on a wide range of issues - or so I am told.

As previously mentioned, I will make sure to update this thread as soon as I have more on the matter."

And IIRC, the newsletter with relevant info (after the fact) was first promised by Lobo to be out by the beginning of last week.
They must be spending days getting some sort of positive spin put onto it.
