I would like to start to submit videos on IS. I have to upload 3 videos and 3 jpeg thumbnails.

When I upload the first video, the site tells me that maximum dimension is 40M. My video files that usually upload on other agencies are bigger than 40M.

What can I do? Do I have to upload videos of 2 seconds at most?

Thanks

What you have to do is read their submission guidelines and do what they ask for. It's not rocket science.

Here is a link to their submission guidelines: https://secure.istockphoto.com/help/sell-stock/training-manuals/video
Application sample is 640 x 360 mp4 with h.264 codec. Max 30 sec. you should be well under 40MB.
Try converting with Miro Vodeo Converter (its free): http://download.cnet.com/Miro-Video-Converter/3000-2194_4-75179194.html

Generally iStock are pretty poor with their royalties, 18% if I remember correctly for non-exclusive. A low earner for me.

I think you will need to use FTP to upload videos. The web page for uploading is for photos only. There are instructions on how to use the FTP on the upload page.

Shutterstock's review takes ages. Have you considered VideoBlocks? They are video only at the moment but have a good reputation and reviews only take a few days.

I wouldn't upload video to iStock, they pay horrible commissions.

They're 5th for me on revenue, but only about 5% of my total. Still, worth uploading there for me. Just.
