Title: New CV DAs
Post by: ShadySue on October 19, 2013, 15:30
I got a sale today which alerted me to a file which had been demoted. In passing, I thought I was slightly surprised that it had been up for 2 years without a sale, though it's not unique.
However, bracketing the merits or demerits of the actual photo, when I was looking at it, I noticed that the reordered keywords were very strange. Then I noticed that the main keyword had been wrongly DA'd, presumably automatically, since I uploaded.
The photo is of a cooper. At the time I uploaded it, cooper was the only DA available. Now, there are six DAs:
Cooper - Texas (Delta County)
   Cooper (Named Automobile Manufacturer)
   Cooper (Manual Worker)
   Gordon Cooper
   Henry Cooper
   Gladys Cooper
and my file, which of course was of a cooper (manual worker), had been auto-DAd to Cooper - Texas (Delta County).
But I had no idea that the word had been expanded. I know that DS had been ading new keywords and new DAs, but I haven't noticed it being updated for ages.
It's a bit unreasonable to expect us to go through all our files checking to see if words have been randomly wrongly DAd.
How are others coping with this (other than the too-facile 'stopped uploading to iS')?

I don't feel there's anything I can do. If I had to go through every file four times a year to find out how iS had decided to spam them, then - apart from not being able to get on with anything else - I would certainly go quite mad.
If you've only got a few dozen online it's doable, but when it gets into the thousands it isn't, especially when you allow for how long it take iS pages to load.

That's been a problem since the cv started.
