Did I miss an official announcement about the new GM at iStock?

You missed the press release, but no one really cares, because they don't interact with the community anymore, and the admins don't even think it's important enough to post about.

It's eerie

You can read through the discussions about this on MSG here:

I hadn't read that post.
Apparently iStock is succeeding in the sycophantic comments business as it is in selling stock licenses! A grand total of 26 comments? The virtual tumbleweeds are blowing through what's left of the iStock "community"...
-
Is the new GM me? Did I get the job and nobody told me?

Judging by the number of people who post here asking about an iS question which is easily found on their forums, not that many are left.

Yes, make sure you are at the office at 8am tomorrow, sack the in-house masseuse and give hell to anyone arriving late. Then they will know you have arrived.

Rather her than me. Anyway, the To Do List (which is of course subject to change as is the person in the GM role)
- Return my sales revenue to at least 2012 levels
- Drag the PP program and your IT infrastructure into the 21st century
- Overhaul your donkey of an uploading/keywording process
- Teach your minions to engage with the community in a civilised/professional manner
- Treat us like the shareholders we are as opposed to dimwitted peasants
- Make Lobo your footstool
- Stop fiddling with the collection. It is what it is and customers pay for the image that suits their purpose/needs irrespective of whether an exclusive made it or an editor thinks its nicer than everyone else's.
- Build up a Vodka stash in the filing cabinet. You're going to need it
Feel free to add further imperatives as you wish.

Hmm. Strange that the new GM hasn't even bothered to announce herself or reply to the gushing well-wishers. You'd think that as our leader she'd have a brilliant master-plan that she couldn't wait to tell us about.
No explanation as to what happened to RR either. Surely she must have been promoted to even greater heights and responsibilities, no?
It's almost as if being 'promoted' to GM at Istock has become 'the walk of death' for Getty senior executives.

...as our leader...
Reminded me of one of my favorite scenes from Kill Bill :o
Lucy Liu (O-Ren-Ishi) severs a head in Kill Bill vol 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prDCDmchtTg#)

So, where has Rebecca run off to?
