My most recent uploads at IS are not selling at all, not even attracting many views. My older images are still selling extremely well. So what's happening? Are my latest pics just no good or is there something else going on here? Anyone else experiencing this?

I don't think this is the case.because it has been pretty much same for me too.I don't know why but my older images do sell better than newer ones.so may be once you new images get old enough they will also sell well ;D  I know it no logical explanation but  this happens to me too. my newer images very rarely gets downloaded so quickly

I guess many buyers still search according the best match search. My Theory is, when an image got a little downloads being new and only good to find by the "Age" search it moves up in the "best Match". If it gets no downloads it does not move up the "best match" search. Thats only a theory.
But I do have an image which is  quite new - 1-2 month. And it is my best seller together with an older image.

I'm not sure there is anything significant here.

One of the images I uploaded on 26 July (so it was approved and went on sale some time later) has already sold 7 times.

It's all ebb and flow, as they say.

So ... does that mean that from now on, under the new IS system, any images that don't sell immediately are less likely to ever sell? They just get lost in the mix like on SS? That's disappointing to say the least  :-\

Some of my new images are selling.  I had a huge sales slump and things are just starting to pick up again.  I don't know if they have changed the best match again and my photos are nearer the top of the search or if it is just ebb and flow.  There doesn't seem to be much point thinking about it.  I am going to try and sell more each year, then I don't have to be concerned about a few slow months.

No, I would not say so. I do belive that how it sells in the beginning affects the best match, but there are plenty of other factors which play into best match. (And they change it once in a while) However I think if it does not sell at all for a month or two it is very unlikely that it will ever have lots of sales. But if you have good images in general, it is likely that they start to sell more and more to a certain extend. So that is quite different to SS. At SS you have to constantly upload and it even will affect your other images in your portfolio.

I just had for one image the second download after about a year. So you can still find it.

The same thing is happening to me. It can be discouraging, but I just keep plodding along, knowing that in the long run I'll come out on top.

same here....  selling old and new.... I'm not setting the world on fire with sales,  but... as with Bateleur,  from a batch last week, had a pic sell a couple times already...  on the other hand, yes, my older pix continue to sell at a faster rate.    'which way's the wind blowing' may be the answer.   -tom

Where everywhere are you? If you are with the big 6 to the right and have everywhere downloads, that is weird indeed. But keep submitting, istock is for many of us the best income/image.

My latest approved image, submitted on July 21, has sold 3 times.  The one before that has sold once.  Older images sell more, I guess also because there are more older than newer, at least for me...

Adelaide

Until yesterday i would have fully confirmed this trend - however, over night, one of the pictures that were just approved sold already.

I was wondering this a while ago as well..  In contrast with SS, where I've had a few 'instant' sales, some 'good' images take a while to get going on IS.

Looking back in age order through my images, the sales are reasonably evenly spread (thin as they are!), but the newest 13 have no sales.  This is typical of what I see on IS for me..

Possibly a function of the search engine 'index' processes?

Dunno, but I get th feeling that it's the way of things for IS..

I have download whit dreamstime, bigstock, fotolia and even one whit featurepics but as you say it's strange for istock, but i try to do more business pictures whit them (seem more popular). I know they are the best seller for lot of people and i'm not discouraging myself about that. But maybe the thing is istock have the most files online and i just have about 30, it can be difficult to be in the more revelent search for me now?
