can we see your image?  I wonder if the keyboard was just to prominant.  There is quite a few design elements they won't accept in a photo, like the ford car side amongst others.  If the apple product is a detail in the background perhaps they will still accept it?!

I think this has sort of been an unofficial policy at many microstock agencies for a while now. iPhone images generally don't get through as anything other than editorial. I've had icons rejected at various sites if they contained anything that looked too Apple-like, and that started happening a couple of years ago.

i think apple aggressively pursues their IP. Im all for protecting your brand but it seems way overboard. I had the hardest time trying to get some generic vector smartphone products approved because they had the same shape as the rounded cornered iphones. I had to change it so much that it just looked like bad design.

Did you submit this as editorial or as a regular image?  If its a regular image, I don't think this is a new policy as tech related stuff has been more difficult to get accepted then other types of products for several years.

They refused a few of my photos of a girl using an ipad. First as editorial since it was really hard for me to remove the logo because of color cast (shadow?) caused by her colored fingernails, they said it would be more suitable in the main collection, then I managed to remove the logo on a couple of photos and the refused it for potential copyright infringement (Apple iPad). I don't bother with editorial anymore anyway, but again they showed their inconsistency in rejections or better said lack of communication and standards among inspectors. Or for not being clear about it until now, but at the same time wasting a lot of our time. Fortunately they're selling decently elsewhere (better than I expected since they're really not much more than good snapshots I made in 5 minutes when I went out for a coffee with my fav model).
