Going from $400 in September to $200 in Oct is not my idea of success.

Because they pay us just 15% of the selling price and a lot of other bad things!

Is it an annual thing that there is always a negative 'royalty free and stills' in their September?

If me or anyone could figure that out we would be rich:) Seriously, I do not have a clue.  What I do know is that it's been quite some time since I've uploaded video there and only now and then am I uploading images.  I suppose it would be inactivity if they use that in their algorithm.  Who knows, though.

3rd BMY but low rpd ($1.62); worst October ever (since 2007).

Like this?
Gross royalty $0.05000
or
Gross royalty $0.06074
or
Gross royalty $0.10025
or
Gross royalty $0.12600

I should like that?

Or that total downloads are down 30% from last year?  :(

But I can see why exclusives would like iStock.  :) They get rewarded for being loyal and they should.

Sales are good but almost 40% of them are in $0.03-0.15 range, RPD this month is just $0.165.  :'(

And now my images there are competing with the same images in AS and SS that provide far far far better RPD.

I suppose sales are relative. It used to be nice to reliably make 4 to 5 times more a month.

RPD oct
Shutter - 1,02
Istock - 0,99
AS - 0,96
unusually equal RPD in Oct.

Heh I was making steady 7,000$-8,000 $ per month and then istock replace credit system into subscription, they removed lightboxes and gave one price for all photo sizes. After a few changes my income dropped in just one and a half year into about 1,500$ per month. So yeah, I don't like them

Yes. Same here and with many former istockers back then.

In the 90s it was common to make 500.000$+ with 1000 images at Gettyimages.

At the beggining of Istock many were in 100.000k $ yearly club with a few thousand images.

People are happy nowadays if they reach 100$ month. How times and mentality of contributors are changing ....who would have thought that.............

Everest!  well I have never heard of these kind of amounts!  hehe! they do sound quite impossible! myself in the heyday of Istock made around 6-7000 bucks a month and I thought that was pretty good, nowadays its around 1K/ month and I'm independent there!

However I must say that the actual concept of IStock is far superior to that of SS, the thing that made SS jump ahead is their freaking subscriptions and thats all! and thats also the destroyer!

Why ppl love to announce BME?? If you start by earning 25 cents a month, chances are you likely to get your BME often. You know how annoying that is to ppl constantly seeing somebody announcing the so called BME when the fact is you just earned 25 cents more than your previous BME, No one know your BME surmounts to anything and if you dont compare with others than why dont you keep the good news to yourself? Ppl hardly care if you hit your BME or not except yourself!! If you announce the number of dls at least more informative than to hear ppl  jumping with joy hooraying ITs my BME again.

He said the big number was at Getty Images in the 90s. 100,000K at IStock back in the day was well known for IStock top exclusives.

Not as annoying as people complaining that their sales have gone down month after month for years on end. It must be really upsetting for you to see people sharing their good news. If you don't like people contributing to forums perhaps this is not the right place for you.

if announcing the good news is less annoying than reporting the bad news. perhaps this is not the right place for you? By your logic,  if ppl who stating BME are considered as contributing to the forum, then what makes those who reporting their poor sales not in the same contributing to the forum group? By the way, i never said I dont like people who contribute to the forum. You put the words in my mouth.

I like people contributing to forums whatever they say.  You appear to only want those people who report things in line with your criteria and preferences. I didn't say anything about you not liking people just not liking it when people contribute to the forum.

I suppose with a lot of posters being anonymous it took some of the luster off of celebrating BMEs too.

I'm a new (August) Istock contributor, and on my account management page I showed 34 downloads through the month of October, yet when I go to Royalties page, it says I have none.  This is the 20th of November.

Can someone explain what's happening?

Thanks,
