Probably very temporary, but suddenly get nothing but white pages on iStock.
Went to Chrome and there was a Whoops error cartoon.
But working OK on IE.
Hopefully a few second's hiccup.

ETA: Yes working fine again on FF. It was the three different results that I was noting.

Lots of white blank pages with the occasional 503 Error page, using Firefox 16.0.2 on Win Vista

Yes, back to the white pages and a lot of refreshes needed.

Also getting 503 all the time. It's happened before and usually goes away quite quickly. Still annoying though.

I really hope they'll rebuild the whole site from scratch sometime in the near future. I can't believe that the management are tolerating all the technical problems at iStock.

I've been having this problem over an hour there.  Hope it's temporary.  But since this is the busiest time of the year, if history is any indication, this will be ongoing.  :P

I share your hope, but realistically it would probably mean the end of iStock. It's been 2 months since they had to remove the zoom capability simply because they wanted to add cash sales, and they have yet to be able to restore that functionality. Perhaps it's because the site's code base is such a mess that it can't be maintained. Or perhaps the software development team there is, um, let me put it nicely and say the work is beyond their training and experience.

I don't think that's going to happen.

My guess is they're band-aiding the site to keep it running and also add functions to maximize sales while they work on absorbing all, or most, of the content into Getty images. Istock will either end up as Getty collections or they will keep the istockphoto brand and just use Gettyimages.com as the backend system.

I'd say it will end up as collections at GI. It's probably already happening but I don't think anybody is really noticing. The IS/GI connector already copied Vetta and Agency and is now doing E+. What's to stop them from moving the rest of the images and just pulling the plug in IS?

It must be costing them a fortune to maintain Istock and they obviously are looking at any means of cutting costs and optimizing profits. If it were my company I'd have one system and that would probably massively reduce costs.

So is the IS/GI Connector an integration tool? Or a migration tool?
