You don't need to hit $100 before the end of the month, and they don't need to report PP/sub/Getty sales before the end of the month.

Contract 5A "iStock agrees to pay you royalties (the “Royalties”) within 30 days after the end of each month in which the license or sale was made (except when sales reporting is delayed for transactions that do not occur on the iStock Site, whether made by a Distribution Partner or otherwise, in which case payments will be made in the month following the date such sale is reported) (a “Sales Month”)"

you mean pay-out is automated now? But you have to reach a certain minimum?
And what do you mean with the pp sales? You will be credited for those at a certain day at once?
I read about certain changes, but how and what?  :-\

I think PP sales are not late, it's just that sales are too low nowadays. Alexa rank is also going down.

Wrong context. You will "automatically receive an automated payment" once a month. But the PP will still trickle in as usual and if the PP misses the automated payment cutoff date in whole or in part, too bad. You will automatically receive the balance of PP that didn't make it on the following month's automatic payment....assuming you meet minimum requirements.

Yes, here's the way I see it and feel free to correct me, ANYONE! (it's corrected)

Sales are calculated the first week of on the 5th of A month, for the previous month. But only include that previous month.

Then on the 25th of the month, a payment will be sent automatically, if you were over $100 on the calculated month.

PP, Subs, GI and the rest come in, the same as they did. Usually after the 10th and often around the 15th. So they won't be calculated until after the first week, instead of the current or previous month.

1) On the 5th of Feb. your January totals were calculated, and everything that has been accounted for, in January - only January - PP, Subs, GI and anything else, are totaled.

2) If you have $100 or over, that amount is scheduled for payment, and removed from your balance (which is what caused the uproar and questions about missing money since the system is new)

3) On the 25th of Feb, anyone who had $100 or greater, total for January, will get paid that amount.

It's going to take a couple months for things to get smoothed out so people who are used to monthly payments, will be getting something every month. If someone counts on this or depends on these funds, you won't get some of the January earnings until March.

Love it or hate it, that's the way it is.

Cliff Notes Version:

On the 25th of each month you will receive whatever your balance was on the last day of the previous month, assuming it was over $100. This payment will include your earnings from regular iStock credit sales that occurred in that previous month and also earnings from iStock image subs, PP, GI and GI+ sales that occurred in the month before that.

If your balance was $100 or more on the last day of the month, your account balance will have that amount removed on the 5th day of the following month...

Yeah I don't like the fact they take our money the 5th and pay the 25.

PP are never at the same date every month. Some month early and some other are late. I would appreciate to receive PP at the same time every month also subs. But what did istock does positive to improve their contributor experience ?

Yes, here's the way I see it and feel free to correct me, ANYONE!

Sales are calculated on the 5th of A month, for the previous month. But only include that previous month, not the 5 days into the current.

Then on the 25th of the FOLLOWING month, a payment will be sent automatically, if you were over $100 on the calculated month.

4) On the 25th of March, anyone who had $100 or greater, total for January, will get paid that amount.

I think we get paid total as of Jan 31 on the 25th of Feb, not March.  The only Jan sales we won't get on Feb 25 will be the Jan PP monies because they are only credited in  Feb so they will be part of Feb totals which are paid March 25.

Why does everything have to be so complicated on IS? Half of the time I dont understand how people can find any logic in that cluttered up tumbleweed of an agency.  :o

I think (though I'm still not completely sure) that normal credit sales will be paid 1 month in arrears (on the 25th of the same month the total disappears from your account on the 5th), whilst all other sales (Getty, PP, Subs etc.) will be paid 2 months in arrears, effectively doubling the time you have to wait for non-credit sales.

I think pixelbytes is right and the 31st Jan earnings tally will be paid on the 25th Feb.

Yes, I was looking at if the new payment method wasn't selected by the date (which has passed) and took that as, always.

http://istockfaq.gettyimages.com/my-account-balance-suddenly-decreased/ (http://istockfaq.gettyimages.com/my-account-balance-suddenly-decreased/)

Your balance likely decreased because you had $100 or more in your account making you eligible to receive a payment.

If your balance was $100 or more on the last day of the previous month, an invoice will be generated some time in the first week of the following month. When the invoice is generated, the invoice amount (balance as at the last day of the previous month) will be removed from your account balance.

For example, if your account balance on June 30 was $100, then an invoice will generate in the first week of July for the amount of $100. Once the invoice is generated, $100 will be moved from your account balance to our accounting system, leaving only a balance of earnings reported after June 30.

The gross invoice amount will be indicated on your Payout Reports page shortly after the invoice is generated.

I think pixelbytes is right and the 31st Jan earnings tally will be paid on the 25th Feb.

Also since PP, Subs and GI sales aren't reported until the 10th or later, that income from January, will be paid in MARCH. (now you see where I got the month after part)

I was wrong, but for Subs, PP and GI sales, yes this is correct. The money isn't accounted for until after the first week, so it takes an extra month to show in our accounts.

As for the 5th/25th part. Some of the FAQ say, first week, some say the 5th?  ??? Legally they can't invest that money or bank it for interest. However I will admit that it shows as an asset which benefits the company. They should not be getting interest for holding our money. That's Illegal.

Yeah I don't like the fact they take our money the 5th and pay the 25.

I don't think it's complicated. It's a mess, sure, but not complicated.

Oh boy, now I can watch those sales dribble in for a few days. And I'll get that money for January sales... in March, on the 25th. And people wonder why I like the credit sales much more?

Hope it's many more than one Mr. Cat.  :)

If they show up today or the 28th it's exactly the same.

It would be nice (and more normal) if they were immediate. Other than that though, it mostly is just annoying to wait.

Not really, those needing by the 25th for payout need it before the 28th.

I think you're confused (and no wonder).
Whatever's in your account by the last day of the month will, if it's over $100,  be removed from your balance on the 5th and paid out the following 25th.
"On the 25th of each month you will receive whatever your balance was on the last day of the previous month, assuming it was over $100. "
