Hello guys,

I have a small portfolio on IS, including this: http://www.istockphoto.com/photo/riding-electric-motorbike-on-street-35356270?st=ba9bd09. [nofollow] It's an editorial image so it only appears at IS (not Thinkstock).

I myself know that this is an exclusive photo for IS. I upload it nowhere else.

But recently I found it being used at: http://www.mignews.com/mobile/article.html?id=190514_153501_69754 [nofollow]

Problem is no sale recorded on IS (for this photo).

And for my understanding, mignews.com is not a weblog, but a profit institution.

I raise this here because of having not got feedback from IS since June 1st, 2014.

Please tell me anything wrong? Or i am wrong?

Tickets to CS are taking months - I have an outstanding one since 2nd April, and one since 14th May. Maybe (I don't know) they laid off support staff, or maybe they're just not hiring to meet demand.

However, the general advice is to contact ce (at) istockphoto.com, and not to show links.
http://www.istockphoto.com/forum_messages.php?threadid=351609&page=1
I have no idea how long ce@ are taking.

The note about exclusives vs non-exclusives is disingenuous, as it doesn't take into account that someone might have been indie for years, so the file could have been widely distributed then, and an indie might not be submitting files elsewhere.

If you haven't put this file anywhere else, including Flickr, Fb, etc etc, be sure to emphasise this in your email.

Good luck. (Could it have been a pp sale from early May, so hasn't shown up as a sale yet?)

Thinkstock sell editorial.

That's a very good point.

MediaVN, have you checked for sales from Thinkstock and whether it has been sold via "image subscriptions" or "credit subscriptions"  in the link on the left side of your uploads page. I don't think either of those appear in the ordinary sales list.

Actually, your photo is on Thinkstock, with many other editorial.
Sorted by "popularity", it's about in the middle of the list.
Maybe it was sold in May, so you have not still it listed  in your download stats.
But it's odd that in 1 month it appeared in so many sites.

All those other hits are syndicated copies of the same article. (I don't know that they all are, but I checked a few and all those I checked were)

They presumably aren't all, one mentions Israel, one mentions the Jim Clark Rally ...
Still, one buyer can use an image as often as they like, online.

Yeap, they are all translated copies of the article on Russia site. I also send a email to Russia site admin, but haven't got any feedback till this moment, just like IS.

Should I wait till the end of this month in case my photo was sold in May? And wait for IS feedback to the ticket I have created on their site, too?

One week ago, I got feedback from IS: "The content which is mirrored on Getty Images and our sister sites is open to a more diverse payment option then when it is licensed from iStock. When the content is licensed on iStock the royalty information is updated in your account in real time. On the other hand, when the content is licensed from Getty you will not have this same real time update. It is not unusual to have the content in use prior to it being reflected in your Getty Images earnings. As you may or may not be aware this information is reported and applied to your account on a monthly basis and depending on the payment terms applicable to the specific client it potentially could be longer before this is reflected in your account."

I've checked my account (including PP) but no royalty found, still.

So, let's keep on waiting?
