Photos.com, re-born as wall art by Getty... Now files on Getty have a button to take you to photos.com which is now Getty's "fineartamerica". Interesting.

Wow, seems like getty wants a piece of this pie too. Where are the images coming from, istock, getty open and what do they cost

I would like to get some clarity on the commission. Lobo said 20% but he didn't say what we are getting 20% of. It would be nice if it was 20% of each sale including material cost. If they are just going to sell a license to print that is something else.

I am so glad my images aren't there.

$99 for the small print (18x12 inches) on canvas up to $374 for extra large (48x32 inches) on acrylic.
A lot of wedge I'd say

I got an e-mail about that this week sometime. I actually thought it was an innovative idea in comparison to recent attempts of the market. Keep people paying getty anyway instead of Zazzle or similar.

They offer next to no options on the print mat or framing though. Compare to Fine Art America's choices

So I guess photos.com wasn't selling so they decided to gut it and try to use it to sell prints and wall art. It's going to be a very tough sell, because when most people hear of "photos.com" they think of photographs, cameras, and film. So they are going to have to spend millions to try and convince people otherwise. New websites coming soon: "www.cheeseburgers.com" - where you can get car parts. "www.airplanes.com" - the perfect place to buy a wedding dress, and "www.longneckgiraffe.com" whenever you need new glasses. Also, it's awfully nice of them to provide this service for us, for a small piece of the pie. (80% royalties on I'm assuming the image only) the frame and the glass they probably make a good coin on too.

I agree, 20% !? FAA treats artists much better.
My Very Best :)
