It looks to me as if every sub dl I have had at iS since at least the beginning of the year is a multiple of 11c. That is surely impossible according to the principle that we will always receive at least the same payout as for a standard sale of a given size, and a bonus if a subscriber uses less than the entire daily download allowance.

So I take it that we've been screwed over on the quiet (since most of us probably don't look at the subs tab very often). Or have they announced the scrapping of the original payment scheme without me noticing?

You mean an agency changed, payments, fees, commissions or something else through the back door, reducing our pay... and neglected to tell us? Well that's a first different unusual common problem with Microstock?

So I had a look at some of my recent sales - and this gets really hard as the data we can see doesn't say the number of credits purchased at the time, so some of the calculations are based on guesswork (for example, was a Large Photo+ sale 15 credits at the time of the sale vs. 12 credits now). A lot of them were multiples of 11 cents. My current royalty is a paltry 17% so it should be 11.05 per credit at the minimum payout of 65 cents per credit. Any rounding should happen on the total amount not per credit, but...

I do have some recent XS subscription sales that were 12 and 13 cents and a L sale (10 credits) that was $2.50; a 2 credit XS from the summer that was 42 cents. So they aren't universally 11 cents per.

Mine aren't all 11c multiples, and I did have one 'jackpot', but now they're not separating out sub sales when reporting.

But your rate is 30%, so your number to check for would be 19.5 cent (19 cent?) multiples?

Now they've taken away the leaf and butterfly it's much harder to track - you have to keep the subscription page for my_uploads in one tab (to get the right dates) and then check the file download list in another. And as we don't have the credit prices at time of purchase, sometimes figuring out how many credits is a guess for a given size

Ooops - but a random six divided by both 19.5 and 19c have none of them as whole numbers.

Clearly, they're deliberately making it harder and harder for us to keep any sort of track on what's going on with payments. Mind you, if you question a payment, they just hit a button to tell you it's right, and if you go back to point out it can't possibly be right, you get now answer. At least, that happened to me.

Sometime last week I got a sudden burst of RCs - around 400 - added to my account, but I don't know exactly how many (as I only count up on Sunday nights, just before I request a payout). There are no sales to indicate where these came from. My sales have been really slow over the past week plus. Maybe these are sales where the RCs are shown but not any $$$, but I'll never know.

I guess I'll query it, but not holding my breath.

Sue, you must have several 1 credit dls to provide a base number. I don't know where they got 11c for mine. As my commission rate is 17% it would mean a sub credit should be cost 65c, I haven't checked what the package price is.

We have a guaranteed minimum payout for subs - unlike for other package credit purchases. See the tail end of the infamous post by the late kk thompson

Your per-credit minimum payout on a subscription sale is 11.05 cents (at 17%). In theory, if you got a 20 credit sale, you should get $2.21 minimum although I suspect you'd get $2.20 because they round each credit down. For an indie getting 18% the per credit payout is 11.7 cents; it'd be interesting to know if they round it to 12 cents per. And even if a one credit sale was 11 cents royalty, I wonder if a 10 credit royalty would be $1.17 or $1.10?

In 2011 I was at 18% and looking at the subs royalties then, they paid at 12 cents a credit and $1.20 for a 10 credit sale (arguably more generous than they need to be; I'd have done the rounding after totaling the royalty owed and paid $1.17). It'd be interesting to know if that's still the same on 2012 payouts at 18%

Base level Indy 15% and probably a life sentence, I have Regular XS downloads ranging from 22 - 58 cents, same file, same time period 2012.

I don't know if that's any help or not?

Thompson might be 'late of the Istock parish', so to speak, but I don't think he is actually deceased.

I know he's not physically deceased - poor attempt at levity on my part :) I should perhaps have called him the "(dear) departed" kk thompson instead...

My point is that it now seems that ALL my sales are at the minimum rate, which means that ALL the buyers are using ALL their credits.

Is that probable? If others see something other than the absolute bottom rate for sales at their RC level, then I've just been unlucky, but if everybody is being paid the base rate every time, something fishy is happening.

I have an XS subs sale from Sept 13th for 12 cents and one for a L sale (10 credits) from Sept 19 for $2.50. Neither of those are 11 cents a credit, and both are since the recent upgrade mess.

They may have done something in your case to mess up payments, but it isn't across the board.

I just read on the bugs thread at least two other people reporting an RC decrease, so I looked and presumably the amount of RCs which were added to my total last week have been taken off again.

No email about the sudden increase or the recent decrease.

How can we be even remotely sure about their accounting?
