Hi there,

I've not heard too much feedback on the iStock Premiere collection, outside of iStock's own forum, which can be a flavoured at times. Whats the story, here? And, sorry non-exclusives, i do realize you're being 'exclu'-ded here ;)

Is anyone submitting? What are you submitting? I'm wanting to know what goes through and what doesn't.

I've not submitted anything yet, and am reluctant to do so. Its not easy to decide, and further, what those decisions should be based on. Cost to produce, sellability, or creative content of the image?

Cost to produce seems the most logical factor, but also risky as it could be the most difficult way to recuperate costs, based on how successful the collection is.

I wonder if they'll succeed, Fotolia has the Infinate collection and 123RF has Evo but I'm not sure if they are as successful as they'd hoped.

I think Veer are going in the right direction with only selecting the best content but allowing everyone to play, I know some will argue that iStocks premiere collection will be exclusive images but I'm not sure exclusivity is something buyers of RF images are overly concerned with, quality I think is the way to go for the future of microstock.

Hi J,

submitted four, one (http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup.php?id=4785946) being accepted few days ago.
I have no idea what will happen, in this market is not so easy to make prediction...

bye!

Nice shot, antonio. Although, I couldn't see an indication that it belongs to the Premiere collection?

I think the IS Premier Collection badge will shown up later when the collection will reach a substantial number of pics.

I know this is vague hear-say, but I remember reading or hearing a few months back that fotolia were going quite well with their infinite collection (which surprised me at the time), sadly I can't for the life of me remember the source :(

I'm sure Istock would not be trying something similar if the others were failing - I can imagine there are buyers who are willing to pay a premium not to have to look through lots of 'average microstock' to get to the good ones.
