Title: Quitting iStock and best alternatives
Post by: jsmithzz on January 16, 2017, 17:23
The removal of all the financial stats and the lack of answers from support both directly and in the Getty forums is the last straw for me. I'm finally moving on. I've done research and think I've narrowed it down to Shutterstock and Adobe. Was wondering what experiences you've all had with either of these sites both good and bad. I know I posted about SS a while ago, but am asking again because things do change quickly.

Neither is exclusive, both have sales, AS is also good if your heart is set in Micro. Go for all of them and wave goodbye to IS. Evanto or Stocksy are good if you can get in.

The grass isn't always greener over the fence.

(BTW, you can see your current balance for credit sales this month in DM)

Yikes. I wonder what caused the sudden drop for everyone.

Yes, I saw thought. But it's sad that you have to rely on 3rd party programs and apps for info that your agency should be happily giving you.

I'm looking at ArcAngel or trevillion. I'm not sure which ... both are exclusive.
Something happened to SS last year and I don't think it will ever get back to normal.

Only if you believe the limited sample of people who feel that way vs the majority of people who are sick and fed up with iStock. I'm very happy with SS and increasing income again this year. Fotolia will pass IS this year on the MSG survey for independent, my income too.

The grass is greener at many other places on the other side. Don't forget how many exclusive have left and are happy making more.

SS and Fotolia are both good I sell better on these than IS. Also the keyword tools on SS allow you to upload a lot quicker.
