just in case this gets deleted from the istock social forums...

quotes......
Just wanted to say one last goodbye before my account is finally closed for good with my final payout. They pulled my uploading, forum, and sitemail privileges a couple of months ago because I started a Facebook fan page for Stocksy, so I haven't been around much. I don't expect this post to last long and I won't be back to reply.

Despite how things turned out I will always be grateful to this place, the people that built it, and everyone that contributed along the way. I learned so much in my time here and met so many incredible people all over the world that I can't help but feel very lucky for having been a part of it. Even though this place is no longer what it was (sorry about that), there are still a lot of really good people involved here making do with what they can. I wish you all the best. See you on the Internets!

I don't see any reason to delete the thread.
A lot of words about sjlocke but too few about rob sylvan after the G/G deal. However he is now in Stocky so good luck.

Ahhh.  Lovely, mega-helpful Rob.  I hope he'll drop in here now and then.  I wish him so well.

Yup, onwards and upwards, Uncle Rob.
Still a Class Act.

What a terrible shame.  Another of the wrong kind of milestones.

As always, wishing Rob all the best and lots of future success.  He is one of the folks that built this industry back when it was still something to be proud of.  Still and always a class act.

And Yuri...

Actually, I have to say as a relative n00b to stock, that the current shenanigans are fascinating.

And Rob Sylvan's book is da bomb.

I had a couple of site mail exchanges with him when he was a big wig on IS and he was friendly, receptive and even had a hint of comedian in him.  Sees like a good dude.  I am sure his wit, charm and experience will only serve Stocksy positively as they build their brand.

agree.  Even Lobo said a nice goodby ... except I didn't catch the meaning of the "Bees" remark.

Regarding the bees; Rob just purchased 40,000 bees. He's been a bee keeper before, but is starting again. Apparently you buy bees by the pound and a 3lb package is about 10K bees (all info courtesy of Rob, 'cause I asked)

I would give Rob a good bye in the forums but I'm banned, so I can't.

I've said many times that he's a spectacular moderator - keeps things in order with unfailing politeness and a gentle approach. He moved on as moderator because of the awful changes in Sept 2010. The suits moved him out (along with the best selling Christmas tree picture on iStock) because of Stocksy.

All around, iStock's loss - not that Getty gives a rat's a**
