I found this info on the istock forums.
Does anyone here know more?
Why they let go their best people? Or is this that the best people don't want to wort there anymore?
This is all very sad ....

I've gone beyond being sad about istock.  I just wish they would hurry up and kill it off now.  The long slow death for independents has become tedious.  I've thought that the sites been doomed for a long time now, sending buyers to Thinkstock was it for me.  Seeing people leave has lost it's surprise factor.

Sorry to hear they have lost yet another of the remaining admins who actually cared about the site and contributors.  Not surprised though.  I would bet the exit was Andrew's choice, rather than a firing.

Andrew's a lovely man. No idea what the circumstances of his departure were, but I wish him the very best for whatever's next for him. And I'd have to imagine he'd rather not have to put his wordsmithing talents to work trying to make palatable what iStock's been up to lately :)

Did the post in the forum we can't see have anything to say about what he was going to be doing?

No, it's just three posts long, simply wishing him well. No details about his leaving.

No, it's just three posts long, mentioning his leaving and asking who would be taking over his role.

Ouch.  I came here looking for any news on the outage / intermittent site behavior and found this.  I never met Andrew in person, but I've spoken with him on several occasions over the phone.  He's a great guy, and I'm sure he'll be fine.  I really do hope he simply had better things to do with his time.

Andrew - if you see this, check your site mail!

No can't see that either. Andrew was definitely one of the nicest of the IS staff.

I'm not being a smartass.  My question is serious (to me).  I do not participate in any of the iS community activities (Forums) nor do I know any of the admins, company officers.  I have heard of RogerMexico and Lobo through this forum.  My question is:
How does/will Roger Mexico's departure affect me?
Is this a bad thing or just normal company operations ... turnover?

Thanks and please don't take this as anything other than a request for information.

I don't suppose that it will as somebody else will take his place but just sad to see him go for some of us that used to be very involved in IS.

Hard to tell. Maybe he wants to pursue his literary ambitions, maybe he has been fired (I don't realy think so). All I can say, having met him,  is that he is a nice guy.

I don't think it will make any difference day to day. For recovering exclusives like me, or others who've been around IS a while, it's sad to see good people go. And whoever's replacing them is not publicly visible, so we typically have no idea who does what any more as they don't speak to peons (in the case of KKT, that's a blessing, but as they say, it's an ill wind that blows nobody any good :) )

Yes, always seemed a really nice guy.  Perhaps he could start a happy, helpful business with Rob Sylvan. :)

Best wishes to him.

Congratulations to him. It is very depressing to work for a down going company and I think morally too it is a good decision. Time for a fresh start. Wish him the best.

I met RM several times and he is a really great guy.  Hopefully he is moving onto better things.  Istock will be worse for his departure.

I will put a plug in for his novel which is a great story.

I can't imagine anyone on the ball staying there under the circumstances. I am surprised he has lasted this long. Good luck to him, I have no doubt he will do better somewhere else.

Yep, good luck to him. Always seemed to be a nice guy. He had some other businesses going so maybe it was a good time to move on.

That's sad to hear, he seemed to be one of the good ones. I'm disappointed that this news is buried in an odd istock post. He's a writer, he didn't have a final post in his own words, or a professional statement from IstockHQ? This is reminding me more and more of a Stalin photograph. A little airbrushing, and now your a nonperson... move along folks, nothing to see here, shoot, upload, repeat....
