Thank goodness I dropped them after the royalty reduction!!! I dropped them all except for Shutterstock and I found that my sales increased since I'm not anywhere else now.

I hope all of you good luck because I know that some of you depend on this income. I'm thankful I do not.

It's quite sad that nowadays we get excited when the site goes down because it means that they might actually be working on some of the countless bugs. We'd rather lose a few hours of potential sales, during the working day, in the hope that we might get to see what we made in the last 10 days or so.

Of course a more likely explanation is ... they just broke the site even more.

1563
Downloads and counting

Does that mean they did only that much in 2 weeks and still need 48437 downloads in the next two weeks?

I'm sure that figure is called out of thin air, and hasn't been changed for days.
The deal is that it's supposed to be 50,000 over 'expectation', roughly based on previous year's sales. So would 1563 mean that's what they're already at over that total amount? I'm not seeing many people whooping about the great sales they're having since it started. Or would the 1563 be the amount over a proportion of the sales from last year?
When it started, there was an arbitrary figure on the campaign page. I think 1563 is the only update since. I suspect it's just a made-up figure (arbitrary). Or else they're just admitting to the world that their stats are broken. How embarrassing.
But if the total was being constantly updated in real time, the contributors would know that the ability was there to do so, but the will isn't there to do the same for us.
It's the most ill-thought-out promotion ever.

One of the mods on the iStock forum stated that the figures are manually updated at the end of the day. They can't even be bothered to do that.

Au contraire:
oldladybird: "It's not broken. It's just not updated daily as it's a manual process.

My stats page is back, still stuck at 14th Nov, and the inaccurately-named "Regular downloads by file type (updated daily)" is still missing.

I happened to find an old interview in May/June 2009 issue of Digital Photo Pro, where Nick Evans -Lombe, GI's COO said:

"We launched the Portal for photographers last June. It's one of the things that the acquisition of iStockphoto really helped us with. From an internal operational perspective, we were quite envious of the tools they had that enabled photographers to quickly get imagery out to market. The Portal has also enabled photographers to have more input over how their images are keyworded, so they can add more of their vision as to what that image is all aboout."

Is it possible that the problem is at Getty's end, and it affects iStock?

Funny viewpoint, but so true. If it's down, maybe they are fixing it, or maybe, they are just making it worse? LOL

This morning my stats have updated. They are showing sales and royalties up to the 14th November, as reported. However, they are now showing sales and royalties for the 26th November - but absolutely nothing between 14th and 26th.

Yeah, mine are showing for 25th and 26th but with that long gap.
That happened the last time there was a stats glitch (though it wasn't as long as this one) then people got their stats filled in over a period of a couple of days.

my $balance is updated but nothing else has budged. only when i go into last DL do I see what's been happening.
(Yay, a new xmas upload has sold, that one sale will surely cover the money we spent buying the beach permit and driving up the beach in our new 4x4, and I broke one of the xmas balls I was shooting) Actually shouldn't be too ungrateful, $2.50 for one DL is nice enough (paid off the broken ball that never got shot). And nice to know that a file only 2 weeks old can be found and purchased.

however, as my first year in stock this could be my WME at IS, going by current trends.

Stats are showing up to date for me.  Very low numbers though.  Unrealistically low for November.  I know, the cash ones don't show there, but still....

Oh! I thought the cash sales bug was fixed and they were all showing now.

Maybe you're right.  I can't keep up.  If this total includes cash sales then it is positively dire!

PS - looks like I will be dropping from 19% in 2013.  No way to accumulate RCs when the site is dead.

Well you could be right. They fixed it, but goodness knows if it's been messed up again. If it doesn't include cash sales, my total might not be so bad, but still well down on last year, which will mean a drop year on year, barring many ELs in December.

Maybe that's been the point of all the site problems. Keep the percentages down. Profitability over profit any day. Sorry you're dropping again.  >:(

I am sorry to hear you'll be probably dropping from 19%.  It's not been a good year for some people at iStock.  However, iStock is anything but dead.  This game is just getting harder to play.

I will still be 17% but not a chance in hell of getting to 18%

Is everybody's Balance correct now?

My monthly Stats are correct now. The Sales are showing up there (from the 15th nov. onwards) and the monthly balance went up by $20,--.

My Problem is that the total Balance in the Bottom only went up by $0,48.

So in summary, my monthly stat went up by 20 Dollars and my total balance only went up by 0,48.

This really annoys me, since i'm loosing my trust. They could be only giving me 1/10 of the sales and i wouldn't have an opportunity to find it out.
