I see that the IS stats have ground to halt sometime around Tuesday morning last.
Is this a prelude to perhaps the removal of download info from open view?
Has Istockcharts.de overstepped the mark? Prompting a radical change?
Or just idle speculation?
How would IS and other contributors feel if DL info was not available to be viewed by all?
Maybe at last it would mean an end to all those &@**!ing photographers who endlessly shoot business groups ad nauseam ;)
All the Best,
NS

My own personal info when logged on iStock are not updated either: this is thus just a problem with IS servers.

Don't see why it would.
You certainly seem to do all right out of such shots!
-
oh thank god, I though I hadn't earned anything over the last two days!
I also noticed that now you can't make more than one payment request a week, that sucks bad!

Where have you been? :D There were at least 2 announcements on the front page and at least as many threads in the forum, an email went out to the contributors, and there were 2 threads here about it.

I don't got to IS other than check sales and I rarely read their announcements, even less their forum. I don't recall having received an email though, apart from those regular ones.

Well if you don't bother to read their announcements, I don't know how you would expect to know of site or policy changes. I understand why someone wouldn't bother with their forums, but staying abreast of admin announcements on the front page of the site seems to me like an important part of managing a portfolio. The change was announced in December and details were given in a January 9 reminder announcement that is still on the front page. Contributors were also notified in the January 15 issue of Contact Sheet. If you did not receive that, you should check your subscription options. It is the method by which contributors who do not visit the site are informed about site news. These can also be viewed under newsletters in the Articles link: http://www.istockphoto.com/article_view.php?ID=549 (http://www.istockphoto.com/article_view.php?ID=549)
I guess I'm not sure what kind of other communication one would reasonably expect.

I just wonder about the obsessive need to keep checking stats continuously.
As long as the sales are credited correctly ie the balance updated is there any need for any to else to be updated live?
All the additional contributer traffic only makes the site slower for buyers ....

Interesting feedback, if a little grumpy folks!
However you haven't addressed one the substantive issues in the original post:
How would you feel about no DL information in the public domain about images?
(Woo) Yay or Nay?
Cheers

Indeed, no criticism implied and I certainly didn't intend any grumpiness, your portfolio is excellent!
I'd alluded to the same thing about the multimedia_de application in another thread - it allows anyone to relatively easily track month on month total downloads for all of iStock, which are figures they don't normally like to release. I'd wondered if they might decide to make the public availability of downloads optional, visible only to yourself when logged in if you chose to opt out.
On the general point though, I personally don't have any problem with it, but I do think anyone who does should have the right to opt out.

Definitely a (Woo) Yay for me.
As far as the stats page not being updated goes, it's not a big deal for me. I use a different method for tracking my IS sales, and only visit the stats page to verify my data.

ditto, I'm not complaining about not beind told about the change sooner. It's not worth trauling trough the garbage in the IS forums or usual mail rounds to get to the actual news. I trust that if anything too exceptional happens I'll hear about it here eventually. Frankly I wouldn't have been offended if they hadn't announced it at all.
All I'm doing is commenting on it now that I have found out (by trying to make a payout). It sucks

EVERY week at istockphoto there is a problem with the site. You get used to it OR you take your business elsewhere!

One of the reasons I am at this forum. The more important information is here. ;D
But I apologize for not reading your first post accurately. I believe I didn't see you were replying to Microbius and not to Neustock, so I thought you were saying the stats problem he had mentioned was something that had been announced.

It's a bit annoying. If they don't fix it, I will have to do more work to track my performance there. In addition, my counter stopped just short of silver status. I wonder if they will upgrade me anyway ???

Definitely lots of grumpiness around here lately.
