I didn't get one either though it's worth going back and checking to make sure your payment method is up to date as there was a glitch to do with selecting paypal/payoneer etc.

I haven't had one. There wasn't even an online confirmation that it was properly finished, like one usually gets in these cases. Did they say we'd get an email if everything was OK. I noticed that we'd be contacted again if there was a problem.

Yep, I've just been emailed and asked to complete the interview - but I did mine a couple of weeks ago too. I just did the whole thing over again. There seems to be no obvious confirmation that it has been submitted or accepted.

Apparently: "The only people who would be getting emails today are those who have completed the Tax Interview and are in a treaty nation but hadn't provided a TIN. If you don't add your TIN you are going to see the maximum withholding tax applied to your royalties."

EDIT: I found out that my country's TIN "foreign TIN" could be enough... Let's see if it works... *fingers crossed*

I also got the "missing TIN" message.

I have filled the tax form on a few other sites, do I already have a TIN?

They seem to have missed something in their tax interview, I have no idea what (?)
That combined with the fact that they are "forcing" to pay every month is a really bad thing, I can't just wait and figure out this - some action must be taken very quickly... :(

They just don't seem to get anything right....

I also thought I had finished with the Tax interview (several times), but keep receiving same email. So what is a TIN and where do I get one, in the UK? Haven't had this issue with any of the other sites.

This might help all of you living in EU: https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/tin/tinByCountry.html

I realised the email from Getty informing me that my Tax Interview was missing the TIN was *probably* related to my Getty account rather than my Istock account. I say *probably*, because the email wasn't clear. I've completed the Tax Interview for Getty now, as well as redoing the Istock one. Hopefully, this 'belt and braces' approach should do the trick. God, I hate Getty and Istock..

I'm getting the same message. The only further info I can find on this is here:

http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/International-Taxpayers/Claiming-Tax-Treaty-Benefits (http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/International-Taxpayers/Claiming-Tax-Treaty-Benefits)

So, as a South African, this should be easy. All I need to do is give them my US Social Security Number. How hard can it be?

Pffft.

I seem to remember that some of the other sites also wanted this tax number . . . at first. In the end they all gave up, right?

I've sent iStock a query back to the same email address from whence it came, asking them for information on how to obtain this TIN number. The iStock forums don't seem to offer any useful information on how to obtain the number either.

Hoping iStock / Getty give up on insisting on the number like all the other US - based micro agencies have.

As an aside, a twisted thought just entered into my head . . . that somewhere, some microstock contributor in a "rogue" state just got their camels and family tent blown to * by a missile fired from a drone paid for partially from their own photo submissions.

Mine is on my tax return form, and also online.
Strangely, my payment demand letter only has my NI number on it, and my Reference number (10 digits plus K that you need to pay) not my TIN!
NB, in the UK it's actually called your Unique Taxpayer Reference, not TIN. It's at the top right of your SES1 form, next to your name.

I used my UK National Insurance (NI) number, not the UTR, but I think both should work fine, if typed in correctly. Some people seem to have had problems copying and pasting the number. As far as dealings with the tax authorities go, I found the process fairly straightforward...
