I have seen tons of huge threads regarding istock in the last few months.
I have tried to follow a few, but they are extremely long and deal at 99% with still images, a topic I am not very interested in.
I get extremely confused with this agency which apparently changes everything all the time and try to make things as hard as possible.
I would like to know how video is affected by all these changes.
Is there anyone doing video uploading there?
I have always refused to upload there because of the extremely low commissions, the complexity of the uploading, the constant idiotic changes and even the tone of their email, where they seem to treat artists very badly

I removed any videos I had on iStock, mostly because of the low commissions. But indeed, the uploading process, recent platform changes and artist treatment is another good bunch of reasons to never upload video there again.
Why even consider it?

Well, apparently everyone and his dog seem to be uploading there, even though they discourage other people from doing it.
So, the new changes have affected negatively video as well?
I never said I am considering it, although there are very few places to work with in video

Sales are strangely on the up at istock since the middle of last year although the royalties I sometimes get for my clips on Getty can range from $400+ to $1
I even had a few for $0.20 for old Vetta clips which were meant to have been the 'creme de la creme'. The tiny royalties seem to be increasing month on month too which is a little worrying.
I'm not really uploading new footage due to the tiny royalty rates 20% mixed with the cheap sale prices.
So if I were thinking of joining now I'm not sure what to think? You'll get downloads but at a much cheaper rate than the other main players. It's almost like Video Hive now.

Well, according to their website, Envato (Videohive) doesn't seem to be interested in video footage anymore. There is a 4 months waiting line for footage, apparently they are concentrating in other kind of content.

I was exclusive there for years! I had enough lies and attitude. I still have my work there but do not upload any new content to them at this time. If they change their ways then sure I would.

Since you stopped being exclusive did you notice a change in the number of sales at istock, or just lower percentage?
