Hopefully the portfolio exposure will increase my sales. 99.9% of the files in these lightboxes are not mine. I will frequently be posting lightboxes on the Lightbox blog page, which is great advertisement. As the top thing says... add me to your creative network and I will scan your portfolio for images that fit into a lightbox. (My Istock page)

*Not all of the ones below have 20+ images and are public, but you can still see them from these links. Still got work to do. 

































Oh, and before someone mentions it. I know 'Tropical' is misplaced in the alphabetical ordered list. It was Caribbean but I changed it so its more general.

That's really cool! I have no idea how one can edit his/her own IS page to include multiple links?

Some of your images are already included. And yes Sentinel, I have gotten about 5 requests in the past couple days. I don't mind though, I have time. I'm certainly no professional photographer and never could be. And of course I would make more money if I was out taking more pictures. I like doing other things too though.

Well, my questions may sound silly, but still:

What exactly is a "public lightbox" good for?
I understand that lightboxes in general are a sort of virtual containers with images you consider to buy and, thus, a private thing that nobody else cares about... Or am I wrong?

If you have your images in public lightboxes, will it increase the number of views (downloads)? Who can see the links (or how exactly do potential customers get to the content of such lightboxes)?

Public lightboxes are a resource for buyers who are looking for multiple images of a similar subject, not just 1.

They can increase your sales, but unless you do something drastic (like what I'm doing hopefully?) I doubt it will be noticeable.

On the main Lightbox page on Istock, lightbox managers can post their lightbox and a preview image. And since I manage the lightbox, you betcha the preview will be one of my images. Both times that I have posted there so far, the preview image has been downloaded at least once and viewed over 100 times.

It's just more publicity I suppose. It takes some time to set up, so it's not really for the hard core submitters. I just do it because I have the time.

If you're looking for a specific photo of, say, an orange, type «oranges» in the search box.  You'll end up with more than 12000 photos with orange in their keyword... And the first orange might be in the 3rd page!

Now try a search with oranges in the lightbox search box and you will find a lightbox of oranges photos which contains only photos of oranges.

Lightboxes are usefull because in most cases, someone had already picked good shots of a given subject.  Not true all the times but useful!

Exactly. Also, your images tend to get reviewed much more. So that helps in the search order a little.
