Adelaide got me curious in the SS 5c raise thread:

(...) the average earnings in IS are high above the minimum.

OK, I calculated my total average, and it is... 50 cents per picture!  :)

(note: in terms of total revenues, both sites are head to head for me)

What is your IS average per picture?

~$9.50 per picture, calculation based on the number of my currently active pictures. I'm not sure about the amount when calculating with all the deactivated/dollar-binned images, could be ~$8 per picture then ...

$1.20 per photo at IS.

(note: in terms of total revenue IS is 3x as much).

lathspell and yingyang0, I think that I didn't explain well the question.

What I meant for the average per picture is: the total number of pictures sold since you join IS divided by the total income you have received from IS for those sold pictures.

Sorry for the confusion, if any.

$/DL is one of the statistics I keep track of. Mine floats around $0.66.

I assumed $/DL would be a constant - I guess I was wrong.

@sharply - note that berryspun for some reason wants total photos sold divided by total revenue, not $/DL.

I don't know why you want DLs/income because it's not really a meaningful statistic. But since you asked berryspun, it is $1.44.

For the more meaningful stat ($/DL), my answer is $0.69 per download.

P.S. I think you were looking for $/DL but said it wrong (twice). The first time you asked for total income divided by number of photos in portfolio.

For me, last week at IS my $/DL was $0.49.

My overall total average is $0.73.

10 week running average is $0.64 so last week was below trend.

I've only been submitting there for 2 months, and don't generate the kind of sales others around here do, but my average $/dl is 53c, although the monthly totals have been quite diverse 43c last month, and 71c so far this month.

Ooops, allright, that would make ~ $0.37 ... but I joined IS when the contributors got $0.05 royalties no matter which size.

My avarage $/DL for this month is about ~$0.63.

Mine is relatively low at .47, although I have a lot of pictures from my old 4mp Olympus so I'm sure I lose out on some of the higher commissions.

Mine average is $0.58 per D/L.
Sales have rocketed in the last few weeks for me, however, it seems to be the same images that sell everyday!

yingyang0, $/DL was what I had in mind in my 1st post too, but I didn't explain it correctly.  My apologies.

This post is in the context of Adelaide's point answering michaeldb about the SS raise, when he said that this 5c SS raise is 33% more than what IS pays.

For an accurate comparison, $/DL would be the reference, right?

All time average per download is .64

However, since the price restructuring in January, the average has jumped to .79 per sale.

49c overall, but 59c this year with the new price structure.

Just for comparison, 72c overall in DT, 73c this year.

Adelaide

Here's my stats:

IS: .55$/DL
DT: .85$/DL
FT: .46$/DL
ST: .88$/DL  (but only 25 DL!)  :-[
and SS: .25$/DL (of course!)

One interresting note:  before last raise at iStock, my ratio there was .495$/DL.  So the raise for me was more than 10%.

it is about 57c at IS but it has been going up to about 70c.  Dreamstime is up to about 90c, fotolia all over the place (probably 50 - 60c), SS 25c, 123rd about 40c - 50c, and StockXpert about $1

That looks ab bit confusing:

IS 57c
DT 90c
FT 50c
SS 25c
123 40c
StockXpert $1

Very interesting statistics, thank you everyone.  I find these numbers quite informative.  In average, with the numbers posted here, IS pays at least twice as much per picture as SS (25c still applying until May 1st), but sells less.  Both sites are very good earners though.

Again, thanks!  :)

Personally, I think a more interesting and informative statistic is $/image/month. This better predicts what I can expect from a site. My stats are IS at $2+/-, SS at $1+/-, with DT and FT steady at a measly $0.20, and $0.10 respectively.

For me, the only thing stopping IS from overtaking SS is time. Some members here - most notably kosmikkreeper - have already passed this barrier.
