Hi all:

I am trying to apply for exclusivity at Istock; I have closed almost all my portfolio with other stock agencies, except for one. Based on the policy of this particular stock agency, I will not be able to close my account for a few months.

Should I apply for exclusivity anyway and hope that Istock will take my continuing effort to close all other accounts into consideration, or should I wait? My earning has suffered since I am not an exclusive Istock contributor and would like to catch up on some sales.

Thank you much,
Stinkyjess

Sorry, you'll have to wait. iStock does not take your efforts into consideration. You cannot have a single image available for RF sale anywhere except iStock when you apply. Otherwise, your application will be turned down.  :(

You'll only get heresay by posing that question here - ask at iStock if it's fact you want.

It's a pretty well known fact you're gonna have to wait the 6 months.

It also might have been wiser to leave all your other accounts open until closer to the applying time, so you could continue to make money on those accounts while waiting out your 6 months.

There have been a number threads on this forum about preparing for exclusivity (in fact one of them was named exactly that). Might shed a little more light on the subject for you.

You actually closed your account at SS? Too bad you just didn't choose to opt out.

I guess you did not plan things very wisely. Sorry for you  :-\

It's only 30% of your images uploaded in the last 6 months!   It's NOT 30% of your total portfolio.
