He is in fact one of the nicest guys at IS.  Apart from that he is the sole owner and governor of the APPLE. Corp.

Lobo isn't actually a contributor (unless he has another alias), so has nothing to lose with the current/proposed changes.
Most (not all) of the other admins are also contributors, so I guess are as p*ssed off about the latest shenanigans/disasters as the rest of us. Some are also buyers, and similarly are no doubt as hacked-off wearing in that capacity as other buyers. There are a couple of admins posting in the Vetta/Agency forums, but other posts are very few and far between.
PinkCottonCandy has been made a moderator to replace the much-missed Rob (Sylvanworks) who resigned as Moderator, being too gentlemanly to voice his reasons abroad, but I'm sure the timing wasn't unrelated. However, so far PCC seems to have been posting in a personal capacity, so maybe she's 'in training', or maybe has a certain 'start date' or something. That's pure speculation on my part.

How bizarre, next you'll be telling us the head of accounts can't count or that 'Scout' is blind  :o Thank god the person in charge of the website knows what they're doing!

Brilliant!!!! I hadn't actually realised that. So when he comes on this forum with the same pompous belittling attitude he has on his forums patronising and generally being obnoxious to members he actually doesn't have any handle on what it's like being a microstock photographer or illustrator at all. I can't get over it. You have to admire his testicular fortitude if nothing else.

NB: Like I said, he may be a contributor under a different member name. I have no idea.

Just another corporate twit probably whose anger stems from still being a forum moderator at this point in his life.

I know I've said it before, but it's worth repeating.
Lobo is a nobody.
A forum moderator, an employee, (one of the first to go), who knows not much about anything, except to endlessly repeat 'take it to support'.

While the monster thread was taking place, the guy never slept for 3 days. I used to imagine him, dressed in his smelly pyjamas, in the dark, unshaven, thriving of the drama.
He was the only moderator of the thread and he loved it. Every single moment of it.
It's power.
Given to weak men, not strong enough, not smart enough to handle it.

He thinks he's cool. Totally.
But he's too old and he's trying too hard.
He also dreams of wolves.
But there's not enough courage in that man to satisfy a Chihuahua.
A fake.

There's one thing Lobo does very well though.
It's a long story and I'm not going to go into that because I know he reads my posts and I don't want to influence him.
I want him to keep at it.
Way to go Lobo!
The face of IStock.

I find Lobo's attitude off-putting sometimes, but I think these are some pretty ridiculous comments to be making.

Lobo may not be anyone's favorite admin, but he's not a suit (and as far as I know, not a photographer either).

He and Bruce were in a band together, the Bittermen. Some more discussion here.

Well I guess that explains why he's got the job of moderating a forum on a subject he knows nothing about. At least it makes sense now.

I can see how Lobo has angered a lot of people, and I'm not about to defend all the forum bannings and general surliness.  Probably if I was still posting in the Istock forums I would have been banned by now too.  ;)

But I just have to say that Chris has been extremely helpful and friendly when I have contacted him with some problems over the years.

I have said it before - I don't think Lobo is acting on his own accord.  I think he's following orders from above. He's a good guy in a bad situation, and I suspect his irritability is a result of being torn in two directions.

Would not be AT ALL surprised if he follows Rob out the door some time in the next year or so.

You're right. I'm sure it's just coincidence that the best candidate for the job happened to be in a band with the CEO.

Same here. It's starting to feel a little bit like middle school in this thread.

This isn't the only forum with unruly children. I think some of the threads on the IS forum rank right up there, and those are contributors who don't regularly (or at all) post here. Start taking money away from people and they are going to get ugly. Human nature.

"He is Chris?" - Good. It is polite when he will say: My name is Chris. But he doesn't.
"Nicest guys at IS.! - Maybe. Not for me.
"Lobo is a nobody." - No. He is an *. Sorry for that. I have right for my opinion. You can say the same about me. It will be your opinion.
"It's power." - Yep, he loves it!
"Lobo may not be anyone's favorite admin." - Not today. Tomorrow? The future is open for everybody.
"He's a good guy." - Lisa, he WAS a good guy. Everybody is independent. It is his way today to be as he is.

I wanted to know something about him. He just kicked me out. I provided only facts what's wrong, what's bugs, I was fair. They didn't say before: this is our playground, we are taking money and giving you just a little, so upload photos and shut up!

Thank you. I am not angry. I wanted to know about him something, maybe he is really NOBODY.

Te best candidate for the work was Peebert...  Bruce is not the Ceo at istockphoto... but, wait a moment, you're talking of something you don't know nothing about. So, why bother.

My recent dealings with Lobo have generally been negative but I'm not going to sit here and bash him on a public forum.  If those of you who are doing so have a problem with him why not let him know throught private site mail?

I sure wouldn't want his job.

We shouldn't ash him on a public forum. The main question is / was Who is Lobo? At all. Opinions are welcome here, I hope. Or - this thread will be locked? Deleted? Member banned forever?

Agreed.  To me this is another prime example of why I really don't enjoy participating at this forum much.  I don't really understand what people get out of personal attacks and negativity.

Sorry I didn't check into this thread earlier.

The original question was fair enough.. wanting to know who lobo was.  An admin, a contributor, office staff...

But this thread has simply turned into an insult-fest towards Lobo.  The thread doesn't really serve any purpose other than to belittle someone else.  not cool, thread locked.
