Why does Istock ignore FTP requests

I did a seach on Istock's form and almost every ftp request topic gets locked. Why do they do that?
I just joined Istock and thier wed upload is a pain, Iphoto plugin does not read iptc info, and I can't get thier imagemanager app to work. (even the programs devoloper has no clue whats wrong)

They're really proud of their upload 'tools.' Tried one. Didn't save any time. Still uploading there one at a time. That is once a week when they allow me to. And then there is the 'Category Selector'. The most convoluted upload process in the industry.
Fortunately, I'm getting a decent return there, but if that ever changed, they'd be the first agency I cut.

the worst thing about categories there is that they aren't even use yet, but you have to do it incase they implement what they say they will in the future.
I find the image manager does save time.

WHAT? they aren't even using their catagories....daaahwhahahsdhfhasdfhhahaaaaahhh
they are like keywording the image all over again... except twice as slow.
