Post by: Mantis on July 09, 2014, 13:09: Maybe "inspired" is the right wording as opposed to infringement. I personally don't see infringement here. I am not a 3d person so not sure if it's "steal an existing image and do some simple tweaks" or just inspiration to create something similar.

Post by: Jo Ann Snover on July 09, 2014, 14:39: I had a quick look at evermotion's site to see if I could find details on the terms of the license you buy. As these works are clearly not direct duplicates, there would only be an issue if the model had been purchased and used to make stock images when that wasn't permitted by the terms of the purchase of the model.

Evermotion s.c. grants a limited license to use Evermotion Products for any purpose, including commercial use and redistribution, excluding following restrictions:
You are NOT allowed to use the renders in connection with the sale, resale or other commercial reproduction or distribution of images of the single models.

But the renderings are completely different.
I don't see how it could be a copyright infringement.
