Paper magazines sell less and less. Online magazines are the future.
But maybe im wrong.  :)

dreamser...you are just considering that nothing change....video already see many subscription model with cheap price 1,5 dollar per sale, near photo but sale for video are not comparable, probably one video eery 1000 photo if not more....the same as motion graphic illustration, probably considering the crisis there will be even more competition...everybod living photo for video and motion graphic, the same pressure on price, high offer low demand....it-s a fact...in addiction while more complex motion design is not nuclear science...in easter europe there are zillions people doing this. so don-t believe a lot on your idea.

ok, you're right :)

no is u right...i bet what you want in year you earn half of what you do now...but you are the kind of people who want deny th reality

Shutterstock made 4.35 Million profit last quarter, microstock is making money. 2019, Pond5 launched partnerships with Reuters, Cover Video, and Newsflare to create the largest Editorial video collection. Depositphotos was founded by Dmitry Sergeev in November 2009 in Kiev, Ukraine. iStokc pays us 15% and you are calling microstock dead. The companies are making good money from microstock and people like you who give them pictures.

microstock is falling , ss growth is practically zero, next year probably begin losing money

Cameras? Photos are a dead horse (unless you are a very talented guy),
but...what about illustrators or motion designers? CG is everywhere,
but it's not so easy, you need to learn very complex softwares, years of practise, and a bit of talent.
Technology is evolving, microstock is evolving, face it. :)

Time is the most expensive item. Still images and videos are not interchangeable.

There used to be a lot of Facebook ads with videos but there are less of them now. Because people don't have time to spend watching them. And then those short title animations, how many of them are needed? One, one per story.

You also can't have all of them animated at the same time on the web page. Because they will look super annoying and distracting. It's the reason YouTube uses still thumbnails instead of animated ones.

Of course, videos have a place in the media but still images are the main things. More demand in still images and also more supply, less demand in videos and also less supply, and a bit higher price for video because of higher cost, simple as that.

Bragging about this is very childish.

She/he is right though, there is little now that can't be done on a computer without the limitations of light, location, models, makeup, props etc. It's not the future anymore it's here and it will swamp microstock in the years to come.

Now we have zero interest rates and they might start charging to look after our money in banks soon. They will try to get us to spend it but that's not going to be easy if were all staying in our homes. Crazy times.

+ to you

I thought we were talking about Microstock, not artists, photographers and ourselves? When someone says "Microstock" I think of the agencies, not myself. Microstock will be around a long, time, and making good money. We might not.

Those few stock photographers who lived through WFC would know it felt.  However this time around there are the e-commerce and online traders. Things may work out a bit different for non-stock shooters and freelancers.

they accept zillions of craps included thousand of similar images for coronavirus, i uploaded 20 images who relate each to a different country despite being the same with change the flag, like thousand images already in coronavirus search, and they accept 2 and the rest refused for similar continent, despite the 2 have already sold many times and they are not the most important country affected by coronavirus, in adobe they sell every day and are counterbalancing the complete death of any other content...i wrote those idiots of ss they use ai machine also for support?

if only this virus would zero all micro stock industry there would have been a reason to stay home.

"refused for similar continent"?

either the most false rejection one can face ever...

...either a cool typo!

:P  ;D

Anyway, CG virus images seem to do dominate the news.

ahah...no content...i checked is full of series with changing flag ugly as hell...but mine are similar continent refused several time and i already had a warning not to submit....really crossing finger their stock go to one dollar soon...i will prefer lose all my earning but see them go out of business...200000 coronavirus photo accepted 99 % looks made by a child of 2 years. not  single one with good light...seems like everybody with a cell phone put something on a table and shoot.

Well, yesterday was really bad but today is appalling. Weekdays are becoming weekends apparently.

Very, very worried as this time of year my main income comes from travel images. If this does not pickup somehow I'll be in serious trouble.
