Post by: leaf on February 14, 2009, 08:14
It looks like Pocketwizard are coming out with a new type of unit on Monday...

no info yet, just a semi-revealing shot of the new unit - ala Canon 5D mark II

Is it just me, or when I looked at that photo a couple days ago was the unit more hidden in shadow,  seems like more of the thing is revealed.  Does it look like a more compact unit with a hotshoe on top?  LOL, maybe if I look again tomorrow the light will be better.  Hopefully fully compatible with the PW's and modules that we already have

yeah, you would think they would be shooting themselves in the foot if it wasn't compatible.

here is a higher res photo.. with a little curves adjustment.

It's about time. There old units looked like children's play toys as far as durability. I can't tell you how easy the old models were to brake. Hopefully the new ones come with a metal hot shoe connection. The old plastic ones broke all the time.
