I have weird idea:
Will it be OK to use 90cm wide satelite dish, instead of umbrella, to bounce flash light?

The reason is I do not have umbrella, and I can find satelite dish very cheap (15$). Is it ok because it is concave?

It will work if you paint it white, silver, or gold. :)

it is totaly white.

I can find an umbrella for a dollar. I mean if you're going to go cheap, paint, and.....

interesting idea !
it might but I don't know what sort of result you will get. if I were you ,(and if already you got the dish ready and neatly painted in white ,I'd give it a go and see the results but if doesn't work then you may consider buying an umbrella as they are fairly cheap especially on ebay ,which I think will do the trick.
do let us know if you try the dish,I 'd like to hear results of experiment
good luck

I cant buy umbrella. Only the shipping will cost me 50$. lol.
The satelitete dish is white, by default, and it has holder for NLB where I can put the flash, and mount all on one wooden tripod, and it is studio equipment, lol!
p.s.
also I do not have umbrela holder, or tripod... and for dish is easy to make out of wood. :D
