Title: Problems at LO
Post by: dbvirago on January 29, 2008, 10:03
Site has been very erratic lately. Currently, I can't upload via the website. Keeps returning some cryptic error. Went to the odditorium to see if any one else had seen it and someone reported same problem 13 hours ago. I tried to add to the thread 3 times but the message never appeared. I had quit using ftp as it was either slow or unreliable, and I couldn't log in there. At times the site is so slow, I give up and come back later. This morning, I opened up a second window just for LO, visited all my other sites and came back and still had to wait for it to load.

I would write support, but recent emails to support have pretty much gone ignored. I have some images that have been stuck in the que for months. They can't fix em, they can't delete em, and until I CCd Bryan, they couldn't reply to my repeated messages.

Sales are very very very slowly picking up, but without ELs or Sideshow sales, it's irrelevant. And if I can't upload...

I thought it was just me... I open LO then 123 in tabs, then go to the other sites to check stats and when I come back, if I'm lucky these sites have loaded.

On LO I get a lot of white boxes, not white boxes with red x's.

I've had 5 sales there this year too.  That's 4 more than Nov/Dec combined.  On their forum others mention that sales have been picking up.  Hopefully this is their breakout year.

I still can not login using IE6, the login page never loads.  Everything else works there - searches, odditorium, etc.  I'm waiting for some help from support.  It used to work, so I wonder if it's some new CSS or something.  I can login in NS (my default), but then I can't edit.

Adelaide

I talked someone at LO yesterday morning, and she said they are having system wide problems at the moment.  That's all I know.

Sounds bad, and just when I have a BME there, with 3 DLs so far  :o

Good for you guys.  I wish I were seeing it too, but only 1 DL for 30c this month for me.  I know my work needs to keep getting better.  Hopefully as it does I'll pick up more sales at LO.

So while I will have my first payout before 2020,  you will have to wait until 4040 or thereabout   ;D

My sales have picked up there.  Hit a new record this week after a long time going nowhere.  The sideshow is good, I have had two $3 commissions this week.

I'd hate to say it, but I think your math is dead on.

1 year 5 months....

 bme...  aug 07   9 pix
don't think I've sold 9 since.....

53 sales   one EL      $69.80 total sales

still a long way from sideshow or payout...  at this pace.. I figure sometime in mid-late 2009...

oh and 53K hits.....  just no sales....

been on IS  1/3 the time and could have my 3rd payout by next month   (with less than half the portfolio)

I'm still hanging in there.....  8)=tom

This month, I have more earnings at Scanstockphoto than I've had at LO since I started, more than a year ago   :P

I've seen a very slight improvement this month (3-4 sales), but overall earnings are still very low.  US$100 minimum pay-out looks so far away....

And I still can't login in IE6...

Review times at LO? Have had a bunch of images 150-160 sitting there for... aah, a while now...! just curious if this is normal...is it?

they put 100 from the first batch of 100+  relatively fast, ,the rest, plus a new batch are just stuck - "under careful review". And I sorta don't want ot upload any more before I see what happens with this batch... mew :)

No it isn't normal.  I've had a batch sitting there for a long time too.  As has been indicated, they are having site problems.  My guess is reviews are behind because of it.  I wouldn't worry too much about it, they tend to be prompt reviewers.

Bryan announced this week that Jill left (or is leaving?).  She was pretty prominent there, likely left a big gap.  I think she did a bit of reviewing too, didn't she?

Bouncers have been on top of things.  Right now we're working through some big changes to the image processing and database, so we have a back up of images that have been reviewed, but not processed.

I'll give everyone an update after this weekend to see if the changes speed things up.

There's no doubt that the site had been slow and erratic recently after the infrastructure upgrade, but that seems to be improving now.

I recently passed 100 downloads there, so qualified for images in the "Sideshow". I logged on today and edited around 100 images for inclusion. The site "flew" along, faster than I've ever seen it. This together with the new payout structure is all very promising.

Everyone, check your keywords on recent uploads.  Only 4 or 5 showed up on mine that made it through last night.  I looked at other photogs new uploads, and they were all short of keywords.

That's been identified as a bug and they're on top of it - files should be getting their sticky words this afternoon.

It'll all iron out I'm sure, it always does.  LO has a pretty talented bunch of web guys.

I have uploaded two batches of files (one from Jan 15) and they are not showing up in the submit section. When I log back in via FTP I can see them all sitting there. I have already emailed support and am waiting to hear back.

I seem to recall someone else having the same problem and they did something (reset password?!?) to help push them through. I have never had a problem uploading before.

Ideas anyone?

I had similar problem with my two of three latest upload batches. After a few days the files started appearing into submit section. I did not know if the login to ftp account and logout help, but some systems have "ftp-logout" triggers which tell the system to move files and sometimes these systems failes to run... I do not know how the system is done in LO, so this just  a quess as always:).

Well still nothing. When I log in via FTP my files are still sitting there. Support has not gotten back to me either. Other than disconnect, I cannot find any ftp-logout triggers in Cyberduck. Like I already said - I never had a problem before.  :'(

The triggers referred to would be on the LO side. I tried ftp also and saw a batch sitting there I uploaded in December. Support rarely answers me unless I CC Bryan. Since Jill left, support seems to have fallen apart.

FTP has been a bit hit and miss lately.  I just use the website upload page at the moment.  Sales are improving nicely for me, so they are getting the most important thing right.

beyond ftp.....    I had a batch sitting there waiting to be kw'ed and submitted.....   took several minutes just to upload the description.... in the end,   couldn't get one done.... filled out all the data, hit the key and..... wait and wait and wait....... finally,  I just shut it down. Time is money and I couldn't wait any more.      Hope it's running soon,  I have a batch there already waiting for kw & descriptions and I've got about 50 more I'd like to upload....        8)=tom

modify:  WHOA...... above was yesterday. I just went to try today and it was click, click, click... that fast!!    Superb!!!!  As Darth Vadar would say,  "Most Impressive!"

following up on this.... however, it looks to be a dead thread... but today,  LO was flying!!!!   I waited on nothing!!   I was very impressed.  I hope this is the future.   .....of course, now we'll see how long it takes to get pix approved, or...... shot down :D.     My thanks to the LO gang, at least, this weekend!! It was a pleasure uploading and kw'ing!!  8)=tom
