Thousands of views. No sales.  The site is still fairly new.  Anyone known what's happening?

what do you mean? as you said its a new agency, it would be quite hard to have many sales

IMO they are building a nice collection and the owner is very friendly

What I mean is that I've had thousands of views and zero sales.   Seems a bit odd.

Of course it depends on what a 'view' actually means.  On most sites it means someone clicked on the thumbnail.  I wouldn't expect to get thousands of thumbnail clicks without making a single sale.

I have a few thousand views with no sales also.  I suspect those views are coming mainly from other contributors and people on Facebook.  MG is still being promoted primarily to photographers rather than buyers at this point in order to build up the galleries and refine the site before actually 'launching' it.

What I find encouraging are the quality of the work, the communication, the future plans that were recently laid out for contributors, the friendly atmosphere, etc.  So many things that are sorely lacking elsewhere, one place in particular.

MG is in its infancy.  It will take time but I'm confident that the wait will be worth it.

Back to the topic - does anyone know if Macrografiks is actually 'live' yet?    I haven't had a sale despite about 3000 views, and I'd like to think it's because the site isn't being seen by actual customers yet.

As far as I know it is not live yet.  As you know, they are in the process of redesigning portions of the site and I would suspect that needs to be completed first.

Looks live to me.  I like the way the site looks and the images seem pretty good but they should be charging more, good royalty rate though.

You're right in that they are 'live' as far as being able to access the site.  But, as you know, their focus has been on recruiting photographers, getting the galleries built up and fine-tuning the site design.  Full fledged marketing (outside of social media) to potential buyers has not begun, at least that is my understanding.

The recent changes in the design look great, IMO.  And, there is alot of good imagery available.  I fully expect MG to be successful in the long run but it's going to take time.

I've mostly given up on microstock, but if I thought I could make some sales in macro, I could get real interested.  I have about 150 photos on MacroGrafiks now, but I'm not going to spend time doing more until I get a couple of sales there.   So, fingers crossed.  Who knows.

[bump]

Ok another few weeks have gone by and I'm getting seriously confused.  The 'views' have dropped down to a tiny trickle.    Has anyone actually sold anything here yet?

I've noticed the 'views' drop also.  Not real sure what that's all about but I suspect that what we were seeing previously was contributors checking our their fellow contributors and that novelty is wearing thin.  Just a guess, of course.

No 'monetary' sales for me yet but I don't believe they are going to get serious about marketing until the final touches are put on the site redesign....which looks terrific, IMO....one of the better looking sites out there, again IMO.  They will be at the Microstock Expo.

I'm uploading and hoping for the best.

I'm enthusiastic about the site and the concept.  It's just that I'm already over 60 and am looking for opportunities that are, well,  within my lifetime...   :-)
