I like the people at Macrografiks --  they have been great to deal with. I realize they are a startup, but I am wondering if anyone has had any sales (I have not)? As well my monthly views have dropped, although I attribute the original high numbers to other photographers.

I had no sale too.

I have stopped to upload to them 2 months ago

They are fair and nice guys, yes.
But it is not enough for the business.

Nice Guys/Gals doesn't equate to Sales- unfortunately  :(

Not even seeing views at this point.  They need to post something on their blog, including some specific plans for the near term.  No reason to mistrust them but I won't leave my stuff just sitting there forever.  They've done a lot of work to get to this point and they seem like smart people, so I can't believe they've just given up or lost interest.

Not sure why you would stop uploading when they are in need of new work in order to build up the site and make it more attractive to buyers.  Seems counterproductive to me but to each his own, I guess.
As I understand it marketing only began in earnest about 3 months ago so it will take time.
The appearance of the site is top notch as is the majority of the work being displayed there.  I'll remain patient and do whatever I can to help them get off the ground.

I looked at this agency in September, 2013 and spent a couple hours checking them out. I left myself some notes about it at the time. I was impressed by the website, the royalties and the photography. BUT... I was unable to find any photographer who had even one sale. Given that, I chose not to start contributing to them yet but also decided to keep my eye on them. It's sad that nothing seems to have changed. I hope they can get their act together.

Simply because I am used to stop uploading on sites selling nothing.
It is time consuming and I have not an unlimited internet forfait (I pay each bit that I upload).
When they will sell I will upload again.

I totally understand that it's chicken-and-egg and they need contributor support to get started.  They just need to put out some contributor PR telling us that they do, in fact, have a plan to start making some sales.  I think I started there a year ago and have yet to see anyone posting a single sale here.  If their timeline is actually 10 years, well, I'm already too old for that I guess.

What I don't want is for a site to just suddenly go away while in possession of all my best photos.

Very happy to hear that Mark. This is an agency I would really like to see succeed.

Ok wait a minute.  "Mark Johnson" has a history of exactly one post - this one.   Hmmm.

Mark - maybe you could provide a little more context for that statement?

Yup, I was wondering the same thing.

So, I emailed Mark privately and he confirmed that it is him posting in this forum.  Happy for Mark and for MG.

Wow! much speculation here!  ;D

Remember that if any of you(our photographers) have a question, doubt or is curious about something, you just have to email us and we will be happy to give you any information.

Soon we will post a report about the last months of Macrografiks in our photographers' blog. There you will know more about the type of images that have been sold, how many photographers have had any sales, what are we focused on now, next steps, etc. We'll try to make it simpler this time.

To give you a hint, sales are mainly within Abstracts, Nature and few Animals. Still low figures but some sales have been for XL sizes which is good.

We still need plenty of content for some categories, we will advice about this in our report.

Ah! and Happy New Year to all the Microstockgroup bunch. I hope 2014 brings loads of joy!

Best
Francisco

I tend to wonder how many of these sites actually have Sales that they just don't report?
Keeping all the $ for themselves
Its a possibility if you ask me

Are you suggesting that is happening with Macrografiks????

So far exactly 2 people have posted here saying they'd made sales.  They each posted exactly 2 times, gave no details, and never returned.

Meanwhile I've gotten exactly 7 views this month, the most recent being over a week ago.

My faith is being tested.

Supporting an agency can only go so far. I have supported GL for one year, and with 5 sales, its not worth it. I think 12 months is long enough. Yes simple uploading system, but I just cant stand looking at 13$ for another 3 years before can get my hands on the money.

I closed IS this week as well, and Alamy is next.

DP is on trial. They need to fix their editor so I can upload my backlog of 500 images. If that takes too long, they are gone too.

FT - still figuring out what to do.

CPS, 123 and SS have proven themselves.

Thinking of submitting to DT, to replace some of the lost dollars.

Make that 3 people now.  Had a couple of sales late last week; small ones but at least it's a start.

Are you also seeing 'views' on MG, or did the sales just come out of the blue?

DT is the only agency where I'm making more money over time, even though I'm no longer submitting anywhere.

I'm seeing views but certainly nothing like I was getting a few months ago.  At that time, however, I think the majority of those were coming from MG photogs and prospective photogs who were checking out the 'competition' and getting to know their fellow contributors....natural for that to die down at this point.

The best way to get views is to upload on a regular basis as new curated images are displayed on the homepage.

I believe their next 6 month report for current contributors is due out this week so should be some interesting reading.

Not being funny stocktastic but I don`t have the time to get on these forums much that`s why I have only made 2 comments.

They just sent out a report to contributors.  It is quite direct, and free of corporate-speak and weasel  words.  There are essentially no sales at this time ("just 19 contributors have sold at least one image") and the few that happened were due to self-promotion by the photographers themselves, ouitside of MG.

They suggest waiting another 6 months to see if something happens.

As long as they keep sending out reasonable-sounding statements I'll probably leave my (small) portfolio there, but I'm not finding the motivation to do any more.

No sales but I am still uploading. These guys are straight shooters and have done everything right. I'm really hoping they make it work.

Couldn't agree more.  And the one thing I can do as a contributor to help Macrografiks get off the ground is to continue to upload.
