Title: Nature sound recorders
Post by: Stockmaan on August 22, 2018, 03:27
Hi guys!

Anybody use external sound recorders?

What's about Zoom h1n? Is this recorder good enough for recording clean voices in forest (birds, streams,...) ?

Thanks!

Are you filming at the same time or just recording sound?

I use the RØDE Stereo VideoMic X with my camera which is a great mic for environment sound, but it works well for speech too if you're close.

I've used separate audio recorders before, but honestly, it's a pain to have to sync everything afterwards and find which clips match the audio. And you will find yourself not recording audio with every clip, etc. etc. It's not a very convenient workflow if you're also filming.

I would like just recording sound and then apply to footage. Rode VideoMic X is expensive..  :o

I use the Zoom H2n for outside recording and it is excellent.
Also I use it almost daily for voice over on my YT videos, coupled with a Rode Smartlav

H1n compared to h2n, what's the big difference?
