Title: New Microstock Music Site
Post by: steve-oh on March 11, 2008, 09:14
Hi guys,

I don't have many details yet, but I wanted to let you know that Jupitermedia  just announced the purchase of http://www.estockmusic.com, a microstock music site.

Not sure if any of you have dabbled in producing stock music. If so, it's something to look into.

Steve-Oh, okay - this isn't your department so you may not be able to answer these questions...

Actually, just yesterday I was looking for new music for slideshows and it was around $30 for the average body of work (about 4 minutes), so these prices seem very low.  And, btw, I did go to StockXpert trying to scrub around for a link and couldn't find one.  (I remembered you referring a site in an ages-old post).

5.2 You will not sell, assign, rent, lease, distribute, act as an intermediary or provider, or otherwise grant rights to third parties with regard to the Music Tracks.  but you are allowed to use it in presentations, powerpoints, etc.

Would I be "selling" this music if I put it on the background of a wedding or graduation slideshow?

I need to buy music that I can use over and over again.  It looks like the license is only for 60 days?   The $30 songs I mentioned can be used over and over for an unlimited time.
