good luck with the site.  The competition can't be getting any easier.

You have missed the important part.  How are we going to make money with your site?  How much are you prepared to spend on marketing to compete with the established sites?  Why should we upload to yet another new site when many of the others have little or no sales?  What makes your site different to all the others that are not going to make it?

BTW, looks like the site is registered and hosted in Russia. Not that it has to be automatically a scam...

Contacts have no phone and address in Belize. Which does not sound right. I would consider it proof of that it actually is a fraud. To be hosted in Russia and legal address in Belize, oh well... I'm sure there will be enough dumb photographers to supply them...

Legal Address:
WideStockPhoto Ltd.
#1 Mapp Street, Belize City, Belize
Registration Number: 83078

I think it is quite unfair to conclude a site as 'scammy' based on their location.  That said - with any new site, caveat emptor: buyer (or photographer - in the case of stock photography) beware.  You should fully trust any stock site before uploading to it.

You are probably right. Anyway, I doubt anyone having any honest and long term goals and being savvy enough to achieve at least small portion of them would register and host their site in Russia and have a Legal address in Belize. I would understand the hosting portion, probably. It may be cheaper if you live in US or Denmark to host it there. However combine it with legal address in Belize and it no longer sounds like honest business plan to save on the expenses side.

Why Belize Still Remains an Attractive Offshore Tax Haven
Quote
How Belize uniquely retains its offshore tax haven attraction despite America's crackdown on money laundering, tax evasion etc.

You can fix that with secure offshore banking, safe offshore accounts, company incorporation, asset protection, offshore investments and tax elimination in the tax-haven of Belize.

Essentially, there is no problem with that. The only problem with offshore corporations is who and where to address in case of litigation. For instance, what are the copyright laws in Belize? In an industry where trust is important, especially from the buyer's side (a contributor can maximally lose 20$), and some big sites are offering a "buyer's warranty" now, it's a competitive disadvantage not to be located legally where the buyers are (US, Western EU).

$1-$4 is too little for a vector license.
$30 is way too little for an extended license.
33% is too little for a newcomer with no customers.

The photographers guide and the illustrators guide are in russian.

I won't be signing up anytime soon.

many, I have a list here for the referral site I was going to start, but with only two agencies worth the spam, I didn't do it.  ;D

Let me +1 FD-amateur:

Tax Haven and many other protections. I don't do politics, so you can take it from there.

I won't be joining any new sites and I'm already dropping old ones until I get down to only those that bring in sales and returns. January is drop dead month for a few more sites, but for now I'm just saying, in general, I should be down to four by then and if two of those don't make some improvement, I'll be submitting to IS and SS only.

New agencies are a waste of time. (nothing personal WideStockPhoto, best wishes, maybe you will prove me wrong) Just look at the history and track records. They come, they make promises, you waste time uploading, and within three years, they are gone. Some people may make a payout, but usually it's just message after message with complaints. The final is always, site gone, where's my money? I lost out on $X.

Guess what, the people who started the agency lost their investment money and three years of effort also. Someone should mention that it's a lost cause and we should do them a favor by never uploading one file. That way, people who think they can jump on the bandwagon and make a quick profit will be facing the reality that it's a waste of time and money. We can help save them from the frustration and financial losses.
