Sorry posted in the wrong place, hadn't read all the posts

same info as below with a comparison with old pricing and how many megapixels.

Well if you manage to get a file accepted and downloaded you will get some extra cash  as the price of credits is going up.

10 credits will cost $12 and 625 credits for $600 and we will get 20% of what the credits were sold for hence the variance. A poty that couldn't increase the 20% part.

300 x 400                 1 credit - new size               19c - 24c
600 x 800                  2 credits 38c - 48c ( old price 1 credit 20c)
1200 x 1600 2mp       4 credits 76c - 96c - (old price 3 credit 60c)
1920 x 2560 5mp       6 credits - $1.14 - $1.44 (old price 5 credit $1)
2800 x 4200 11.7 mp 10 credits                          $1.90 - $2.40
3300 x 4900 15 mp    15 credits                          $2.85 - $3.60

Though as they are giving designers a months notice of the price increase I expect a lot of designers will be buying old cheap credits in bulk. Great news for iStock money up front not so great for the photographers

I expect DT and BigStock will get some increased sales as a designer can buy a 8mp photo for $2 (or less) there compared to around $6 at iStock

So how much will a credit be worth.  Surely they aren't going to have multiple prices depending on the level of discount you received (like 123rf does), surely it will just be new credit 24c, old credit 20c, really old credit 10c.

I also assume the free vox uploads will only be for the new x-small price.

They're going to be paying net, meaning that they are going to pay you different comissions depending on how many credits the purchaser purchased. Your earnings are going to start looking very strange.

The important thing here is they are pulling the wool over all the contributors eyes. Yes you're getting more per download but they are also reducing your commission percentage. You use to get 20%, now when people buy credits in bulk you are going to get around 17%. Istock use to absorb the cost of the discounts that are bought in bulk, but now they are passing that cost onto the photographers.

So to review...Istock is increasing the prices and decreasing percentage paid to photographers. Not to mention they keep the interest earned on money that has not been paid out because the contributor doesn't have the $100 needed, and they also keep the interest earned on the money paid for unused credits.
