Wull, worth noting before digging too much; they are reporting non-gaap ... which is irritating. They can do whatever the fuck they want with these numbers. But, we'll carry on.

Revenue decreased by 2% to $159.2 million.
Net income increased $15.7 million to $19.0 million.

Subscribers increased 29%, to 223,000.
Subscriber revenue increased 8% to $62.7 million.

Notable, revenue DID decrease but, not nearly as drastically as their operating expences at the massive -14% overall. All of their operating expenses decreased 14% during this period compared to 2019. Resulting in a wicked $476% increase in net income (over q2 2019. Free Cash Flow is 2.5% more than 2019.

It also, wouldn't seem as though we've touched their constant subscriber growth, which grew 14k during the quarter ... my layman's financial analysis would be that this is a great stock to be in at roughly half of it's current price. My contributor analysis is that I don't want to submit at $0.10 per download ... and my overall analysis is that we need more people to dump their portfolios or just accept the that the future of Microstock is pennies per download.

I'd have loved to see more action out of the other agencies to take advantage of the situation. I for one would be tickled if Adobe offered some sort of exclusivity, mostly because I'm tired of uploading to a dozen mediocre spots to get more nothing for more time invested.

Who cares! I sold my shares ages ago and even if they was the biggest company in the world I'm glad I'm out!  I'm a photographer not a crawler begging for money!

I can no longer bear to read SS's communication as its so full of management/techno gobbledygook. It seems to me the purpose of the business has been forgotten....this rarely ends well.

Let me summarize if that will help?  ;)

Cut expenses.

Less humans, support, reviewers, or their involvement. Replace with computer learning.

Use API partners as the main source of revenue and less reliance on enterprise or SS sales.

Here's an idea: Why don't they charge customers a bit more for the product.

It should be something like "To provide high quality imagery to customers in a convenient way at a competitive price" They are too busy cutting costs and playing with untested technology to remember that.

I always get the impression when they talk about operating expenses, that paying artist royalties is an expense they wish they didn't have to do, and all they can think about is reducing that expense.

Too true!
The purpose of the business has been forgotten - absolutely, why the constant need for more imagery. What is the point accepting another sunset image, a brick wall or all the other useless subjects that will never sell I see daily.
It does no one any favours. Time taking people uploading, their expectation that it will sell, but it will probably be buried under more unsellable imagery tomorrow, and cost of storage.
Every day there are new contributors, and I think you are 15 year too late, what could you possibly shoot that hasn't`t already been done and probably better. Do people really think these non descriptive images will sell. I always think why haven't Ss got these images on the front page? All they are accepting images of are non descriptive images, but their front page still show glossy lifestyle images, the two could not be more different.

Yes that and the post right before from you.

It should be something like "To provide high quality imagery to customers in a convenient way at a competitive price" They are too busy cutting costs and playing with untested technology to remember that.

I think the only catch to, they should raise prices, is competition that has ground the profit down to bare minimum. I see the SS recent changes as a reaction, not as a leader of the industry, that's been followed. Getty and others led us to this.

For years I've advocated for "don't feed the parasite agencies", but people still upload everything, everywhere and have caused a loss in value, as there are still places that sell for the least and pay us the least and market on nothing except price. Because most of the time, you can get any image you need from anywhere, including free sites. How does a business that's trying to make a profit, battle against bottom feeders and free?

Before someone else says it, one way would be go after the free sites that give away stolen images. Chase the leaks and losses, which is good for them and us.

Another would be, promote quality and exclusive, or at least, somewhat image exclusive. Pay a better rate for image exclusive to encourage best quality and let the factories spread their toxic disposal of millions of images, everywhere. Quality will sell!
