DepositPhotos and PantherMedia - will check what are the problems there.

Update: I tried again today, and both DP and PM are working now

Almost everything is working fine in Lightburner, except editing multiple images at a time: nothing happens clicking the "Catalog" link (Windows XP/IE 8 )

Thanks for the finding!

It was the easy one, fixed.

I have used LightBurner now for most sites, but not on Fotolia yet.  It is possible to send to Fotolia without sending the photos straight into the inspection queue?  If not, I'll keep on sending them with FTP separately.

I agree this could be a useful option as sometimes it's better not to upload too many pictures at a time to some sites (for a series of reasons: better acceptance; better placement in search results)

Meanwhile, you can add a custom FTP channel in LightBurner instead of using the default Fotolia channel.

But now multiple edit deletes all keywords. Is that expected? I think it would be useful to add a category to multiple images at once without deleting keywords.

Hello David,

Thanks for addressing some bugs.
I still experience duplicates with crestock and canstock. Pictures do not always show up at Alamy.
That being said, this tool works much better now!

I just wanted to ask you if it's possible to keep the thumbnails of the pictures uploaded on LB after automatic removal. Otherwise I can't see how analytics will work since contents will be deleted.

Best,
Diego

Duplicates on fotolia too (again).

Yes, it is by design. My logic is as follow:
- for a 'single' edit it is expected that everything will be replaced by the new set of params, not 'added' to the existing params (e.g. new Title should replace the old one)
- the same is correct for 'multiple' edit.
It is good when you want quickly to add the same set of keywords/description/title/categories to a group of new images

The good news are that "Assign" does exactly what you want - it only adds new things, does not remove anything. You can apply "Assign" to multiple images as well.

Yes davidm, to downsize pictures for subscription sites like shutterstock is important, we can't sell the same image for the same size at so much different price between for example shutetrstock and istock.

What's to stop people up-sizing them after purchase ??  I would think the quality would be very good, as they were down-sized in the first place !?

Also what size do you submit to top 6 ??  (DT,FT,IS,SS,BS,123)

 :)

Thanks, I didn't know that Assign did that.

Downsample your avatar to 10x10 pixels and then enlarge it to the size you have now.

lol   Not a very realistic comparison !?

I'm talking 10MB down to 5MB, then back to 6 or 7MB !!

to compare with 10x10 pixels is rather silly really !  isn't it ??  ;)

Hi Diego,
Are not they kept? I was sure they are, as well as the 400px previews. At least it was designed for that... Do we have an issue here?

The comparison is to illustrate a point.

David,
the test picture I uploaded last week has been automatically removed. I got an email about automatic removal with one day notice.
Am I doing something wrong with settings? I checked my account out but I can't find any option to store previews on the site.
Thanks!

Phase 1 - FTPing to your "upload" folder using crossFTP (free version 1.65)
3 files uploaded correctly at first try
1 file uploaded twice
1 file uploaded after many retries (error: "[R3] Failed to get attributes of /upload/glasgow-cathedral_p9169344.jpg")

I updated SFTP procedures, so it hopefully works better now. I did a quick test with crossFTP - it still says something about "failed to get attributes", but now in the next line it adds "Succeeded to get attributes", so for my files it looks this way -

[R1] PUT to /upload/_MG_5598.jpg, MODE:BINARY
[R1] Failed to get attributes of /upload/_MG_5598.jpg
[R1] Succeeded to get attributes of /upload/_MG_5598.jpg
[R1] CHMOD 755 /upload/_MG_5598.jpg
[R1] Succeeded

Uploaded about 200 files for the test, looks good at the moment.

yes, I meant it's down as well using IE and Firefox, so it's not Safari related.

Sorry for the trouble guys - upgrading again, we need some more RAM and even more storage.
LightBurner started small, but due to the strong demand we do the 3-rd upgrade in the last 8 days.

The site is back now, we are good to go.

Diego,
You are right - indeed ALL media info was deleted after 3 days. It definitely was not the designed behavior.
I fixed it, and now only the high res is deleted, while the rest of data is kept in your account for your reference & analysis.
Also added a line to the removal notification email explaining this.

David, is there any chance LightBurner will offer storage, as iSyndica did?
As I have not my agencies set in stone, I would pay for the ability to upload my portfolio (or single images) to another agency at a later stage. For me, this was another key element of iSyndica.

Thanks for a very good question! Though it is not a simple one.
I am absolutely with you since I also ask the same question every single day.

Indeed, agencies come and go, and sometimes newcomers are great, or they simply pay for uploads, so we go with them. Yes, the need is definitely here.
Technically LightBurner is fully prepared for that. Just stop media removals for people who want to keep their portfolios with us, that's it.

However, if we do that we will have to introduce payed subscriptions to cover our storage expenses.
Are people ready to pay for that? And, if, like you say, they are - then why iSyndica failed?
