Any change their webmasters do can affect the delivery

Is there some way of seeing which sites my image made it up to, without having to click all the way down the channels list ?

LightBurner is great when things work, but now and then some channels are broken for reasons beyond control such as changes on sites.

Suggestions to David:
1. Why not setting a custom FTP channel automatically for every default channel, and switching to custom mode automatically if direct delivery fails?
2. Why not sending an email if something goes wrong?

Thanks

And here is the reason why you can not deliver images to Fotolia with Lightburner over HTTP:

[root@domU-12-31-39-09-B8-81 ~]# wget http://www.fotolia.com

"Update" and "Delete" buttons work for the custom channels you define, allowing you to change FTP server or port for the selected channel. Naturally, you can not do that for pre-integrated channels e.g. iStock. For iStock & Co, simply select a channel, enter your user credentials at right and press "Save" button.

But how do remove them from your list of channels if you can't  'Save, Delete or Update' your sign-in information ??

I don't want them to show in my list !?

also, I'd like to deactivate channels temporarily without deleting data; a tick box will do

e.g., sometimes I need to deactivate Fotolia if I am uploading editorial pictures that they don't accept

there is a Deactivate box !  but it's greyed out until you have set up the channel, which we can't do !?

Also David can we NOT have to sign back in every few minutes ?   1 day would be fine !?  ;)

David, I'm trying out the tool for the first time. It looks very promising! Thanks for putting it together. I do have an issue however. I can't seem to set up the channels for Fotolia and Cutcaster. The tool is telling me that my credentials are incorrect, but they aren't! Is there a workaround? Thanks in advance

Cutcaster went out of the order with  a new release of their web site shortly after the current version of Lightburner was released :)
Either I will put it back manually one day, or - much better for all of us - John Griffin' people will finally implement the API I sent them about a year ago.
We'll see who is first on that, John :)

Fotolia is a different story.
Some junior brave Fotolia security officer understood after 6 month of serious brainstorming that Ligtburner stores Fotlia credentials in the Lightburner' database.
So that officer decided that such a bad app is an evil and it must be blocked at the IP level.
As the result, at the moment Lightburner.com can not work with Fotloia simply because some stupid Fotolia sysadmin decided to add IP-level blocking firewall rules for all HTTP requests sent from Lightburner.
Thank you my dear Fotolia for the business we generate you free of charge.

The bottom line:
both sites will work if you define private custom FTP channels for them.
(which is even more stupid my dear Fotolia security warriers)

Hi David,  Can you tell me if you plan to add channels for StockFresh and Photodune?

Also, can anyone talk me through adding a custom channel to allow uploading to Fotolia? ie what to put in the boxes etc (a very basic guide please!)

Many thanks

I've created one for Fotolia FTP, but it does not seem to get through to Fotolia. I thought I saw an earlier response that said that Fotolia was blocking files from Lightburner?

Anyway, this is how you do it. Go to Channels in top right corner. Then in the pop up, select "New" and you will see another popup. Enter a name for the channel - ie Fotolia FTP, enter the FTP site location, leave the port as it is, and generally leave the folder blank. There are some sites that require a particular folder for your images. Click on "Add." That is half of the work completed!

Now find your new channel in the list and click on its name. Now you can enter your user name and password for the FTP site. Often this is the same one as you use to log into the stock site, but not always. You would have been provided with this when the FTP account was set up with Fotolia. You have access to preferences here to resize an image before sending. Once you are finished, click "save" and it should change color in the list to green.

That's all there is to it - I'd be interested to see if it works for you.

Many thanks for that Steve.  I haven't been given a FTP login by Fotolia though as I have just been using their HTTP uploader.  I am fairly small-time at the moment.  I am an ex iS exclusive so used their antiquated system for a few years.  Since going indie I have been slowly adding keywords to metadata so have been just using HTTP to upload a few at a time.  Won't it be the same address for everyone but with a different user name and password?

Yes - it is submit.fotolia.com. The user name and password is obviously unique per user, but I am pretty sure it is different to the one you log onto the site with as well.

Steve

FTP user is your "member id" (a number, not your "username")
FTP pwd is a string made of your "username" and your "password" attached

Hi David,  Can you tell me if you plan to add channels for StockFresh and Photodune?
Het can't do that yet for PD since you have to feed them different batches composed out of images of the same model(s), then send the release to a different FTP folder. He'll have to wait till PD has a release library and you can attach releases online as part of the submit process.

Ah, ok, thanks for that Steve and Micro.  I will have a dig around on Fotolia to see what I can come up with.   Also thanks Attilla - I am a strange one as I don't have any people shots in my port, so don't need releases.....

Incidentally, I tried to upload 5 images to a bunch of agencies last night as a trial, but so far only CanStockPhoto and BS have gone through.  It is now nearly 24 hours since I started the process, does this mean that something has gone wrong with the others?  The ones I am waiting for images to arrive at are Veer, DT, 123RF, Deposit, Yay and Crestock.  The icons are still showing amber on my Lightburner page.

Cheers

Hi all,
I invite you to try the new PSM 2.0 Beta for Windows, which works exclusively with your Lightburner account.
Please make sure you read release notes at http://prostockmaster.com/microstock/prostockmaster2-for-windows-beta/ and do not forget to make a copy of your JPGs before applying any metadata change to them. Though if you work in RAW in Adobe LR/PS and can generate JPGs anytime you should not worry.

I think lightburner is not working currently. Btw. keyword suggestion tool in lightburner does'nt work :(, Also in ProStockMaster 2.0.1. there is a problem when i want to use suggest keyword and enter more than one keyword, always error. Why is that? in older versions i have used key phrases with no problem. Now in 2.0.1. version it seem this is not possible. It is strange that he cant suggest kewords for example "celsus library".

Lightburner is back now after a short outage due to a disk issue.
Keyphrases - will look into that

Same here, no transfer to custom channels.

Yep - I have the same problem.  Channels that previously distributed without any problem are now no longer working.  On  my channels (StockCube) these are 'New Fotolia', Deposit photos, Stockfresh and Photodune.  They haven't worked since the start of the year.
