Title: Microstock Interview!
Post by: tobkatrina on April 30, 2009, 13:26
Hey guys, if you know me from other microstock forums, I am Katrina Brown (tobkatrina). I am so excited to have tried a new microstock service and they even did an interview with me WooHooo!

Anyway, let me know what you think!?

With only 5 of 14 questions not involving your use of iSyndica, this strikes me as more of an ad for an uploading service than it does an interview about you as a photographer. Given the recent attitude towards 'spammish' content here, be prepared for this post to get jumped on.

Edit: It might have been more appropriate to use this link (http://corporate.isyndica.com/cloud-blog/2009/4/29/interview-with-a-stock-photographer.html) instead.

I agree, it's SPAM.

I read their FAQ. FTP isn't good and secure, yet they are using it to distribute photos everywhere. They want to have their proprietary API for uploading.

I might try to submit few files so I can give honest feedback.

They have a place on the site for feedback. They really are interested in hearing everything you have to say so go for it!

Did I miss iStock? Meaning you think I made this site? I hope not because I am not the developer etc... LOL if you meant did "they" miss IS? I don't know much about it but you would have to ask them =)

I still have to upload to IS through Aperture as always...............

I am using free account. Tried to upload files on my Linux desktop and it does not work properly so I switch to Windows machine and it worked. It look it was quite fast with 4 files. It spread these files to 4 agencies (free account). Now what? Is it going to give me view/sale reports for these files? So far it's online version of Filezilla :-)

I just noticed this thread threat now.  ;D
It's a new one but it has been here before (http://www.microstockgroup.com/general-stock-discussion/isyndica-com/msg88603/#msg88603) after spamming unveiling a new service at SS, not iS.

A glorified Filezilla that asks money, was the conclusion then. Of course, it was to be expected they would spam inform us more. Woohoo! They didn't even pay for an ad on MSG? Woohoo!

What changed? A new user with the name of a Hurricane. Did she write a book on Ego-Rythm? Will you get a free bottle of snake oil signing up? Woohoo!
Ah, let's be nice for a moment.  ;)

You'll have to excuse me now. I got this great proposal from a Nigerian banker by email, and I definitely have to answer it.  ;D
