For now, we only offer rankings for ShutterStock contributors. But we are already working on adding other Microstocks agencies. As soon as we add a feature, we'll keep you updated.
We provide fresh datas every weeks : updates on Monday

Apart from a few spelling and grammatical errors, the site looks really nice and it's slightly interesting to check the stats, but am I right in thinking that all this does is rank people by the number of files they have? If so, I'm not exactly sure how that will help me "Identify and Learn from the best to improve your profits" or "Using Data to Make Better Decision". Is there more on the way that I'm missing?

For now, we are focusing on a contributors rank ( thanks to the number of files), and the regularity with which they submit their files.
But we are working on collecting more interesting information for the business (Keywords, Trending Searches, ...)
Moreover, we remain open to all suggestions that will improve this app.

During the month of June, we will add 200,000 Shutterstock contributors to our database (in addition to 60,000 already present). Sure you'll be there ;)

I can only hope that was meant in jest and not Yet-Another-Knee-Jerk reaction from a moron afraid of anyone not born in his country (and where were YOUR great-grandparents born, BTW)?
i was born in the US, as was my wife (though my great-grandparents came from Germany, and my wife's parents from China, running from Mao). We have quite a few Russian friends, some of whom have immigrated to the US and are citizens of the US since we first met them in Russia on our trip there in 1988.
I went to Iran last month and had lots of pre-conceptions. They were (in my mind) to be ultra-conservative, dour, foreigner-fearing, American-hating people. You know... I was wrong on every count. They were the most open, caring people we have met in a long time (we have visited 82 countries so far). Every time I identified myself as an American, the arms would fling wide, the smile would go from ear to ear, and the shout would be "WELCOME!", usually followed with "You are my first American!". Though a bit less enthusiastic, we were also universally welcomed in Russia in 1988, shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Get outside your home town -- or even your parent's basement, and learn to see the world. It ain't what the tRump wants you to believe.

As one other replier noted... interesting, but I don't really see any practical use for it. How can I use this to improve my own performance?
Any plans to extend this in a direction that would address that question?

First we'll map all contributors.
Then, we will focus on the files submited by each contributor (title, keywords, description...). The goal is to see emerging trends that can help decision making.We are thinking of other useful information that we could offer. :)

The interesting stuff which could come from this about submissions and sales is precisely what SS prevents contributors putting into the public domain. If you find a way of doing this you are going to get hammered. If I am hot on some new trend as a contributor I am also likely to be less than thrilled by you sharing it.
At the moment, all your pages have the same URL https://microstockrank.com/shutterstock/photos-rank This is no use for seeing what is happening round about me. If I am in position 10001 and want to break into the top 10000 (no, I don't know why either) I would want to see who was round about me in the rankings so something like (supposing you were doing this in php) https://microstockrank.com/shutterstock/photos-rank?start=9900 (it's an example guys, obviously it doesn't work but don't know how to disable a URL in a post) as a url would help.
