Title: Picworkflow - why you shoud not waste your money for keywording there...
Post by: Daniel Dash on October 09, 2014, 10:32
Hello,

Im using Picworkflow for a long time already. In most cases I order titles/descriptions for my photos. Rarely keywords.
This is not the first time that happen to me and maybe some of you experienced the same. Ive already informed Bobby about this but there are no results.

Here we go:

Ive uploaded a batch of about 90 photos to description and keywording. Titles and description are in 90% very accurate and detailed. No complain.
But what is going with keywords? I dont know. Do the keyworders fighting with each other? Who the first touch and reserve his file?

To be more specyfic. There were photos from different sessions, different female models, different subjects, different situation etc. All common thing was female model on them. And what "smart-ass" keyworder did? He put easy keywords (it was copy and paste for sure) to most of those photos.
There was something like this: "adult, attractive, beautiful, beauty, cute, female, lifestyle, lovely, model, person, pretty, seductive, sensual, sexy, slim, young"
16 keywords for all. Very universal, right? Easy money, right? He leve those files for days. Did not touch and add anything more. Incomplete. I had to finish the job by myself.

It is not the first time that happen.

I do not order keywording there anymore if Bobby dont do something with this problem.

Oh, almost forgot. The nickname of lucky keyworder is LEMUR (he got this nickname becouse he's fuckin lazy?)
Of course there are good keyworders also who do great job. But those individuals like Lemur make bad reputation for all Picworkflow.

And you're lucky if the keywords are all spelled correctly. I have stopped to use PicWorkflow because I had to check all the keywords again for correct spelling. For me as a non-native speaker makes  the whole service no sense if you can not rely on it. Although I usually like PWF very much.

Unfortunately they have gone from great to poor in some cases. It is probably very hard to get good keyworders for Bobby. There are still really great keyworders at Picworkflow but it in my case though it was getting rare to get one even I was willing to pay more  sometimes the highest price didn't hold the quality. The price obviously doesn't lead to higher quality it only leads to faster keywording which I think is a mistake!

Maybe it would be good to separate keyworders in two different tiers.

The top 5 keyworders (for example) get at least x$ per keyword and keep y% of that income. All the other ones get z$ per keyword (where z < x) and keep q% of their income (where q < y).

Or just disable partial keywording.

Yes. Disabling partial keywording it might be a solution. Ive mentioned about it to Bobby at the first time. But no effects.
