Hi all!
My name is Emily and I am part of the development team for The World of Pictures - TWOP.
We just released our iPhone app (seach TWOP app in the AppStore) which enables you to directly upload your photos to our Photo Agency.
You can also upload your photo directly via our web interface (probably a more enticing option for you professional stock photographers!)
Photographers receive 50% of the proceeds - at least EUR 2.50 for each photo sold, and up to EUR 25 depending on the license. We will also be offering exclusive licenses and photo assignments very soon.
You can learn more about the app on our website and our photo agency (still in beta!)
We would appreciate feedback from you so that we can make our photo agency as easy to use and as beneficial for you as possible! Thanks for listening. Hope to see your photos on TWOP!
Emily

twop.com is "Television without pity".
Not a good start.
-
TWOP is a horrible name. And I wouldn't remove the "T". Will have another look if you come up with a better name.

Sounds like a Yorkshireman insulting an Italian in the 1970's.

Sorry, I didn't catch your URL...

The Welsh word twp - pronounced like book - means stupid. I would pronounce TWOP the same way - not a great idea for an acronym IMO
I had to do a google search to find the agency web site here (http://www.theworldofpictures.com). Might have been helpful if you provided a link
I see your pitch in this line from the web site "- Quicker, less expensive, and more up to date than other photo agencies -" Looking at the images, it reminds me of iStock or Shutterstock in 2004 - the images aren't all that great.
Getting images to the site quickly is fine if they're newsworthy or time sensitive, but otherwise, you've just got a rather odd collection. Reminds me a bit of Photocase and I never could figure their aesthetic out.
Given the types of images you're after, what do you think photographers here - who contribute to the existing agencies - might be able to offer your agency? And given your goal to be fast and cheap, what can you offer us - and don't include 50% in your answer. 50% x 0 is 0 so talk about how you're bringing buyers to your agency.

I thought it was an onamonapia when Batman punches people.
The site looks OK. The design doesn't seem all that user friendly. I haven't read through the terms, so I can't really comment on those. I didn't see any illustrations either.

A new agency with advertisement for Thinkstock? Absolut no go!
-
TWOP is fine with me.
But an agency starting out with a flood of cell phone photos may be setting the bar too low to interest many of the photographers here.

No images in any of the categories I clicked.

+1
Joined another brand new agency with good commission beginning of the year by uploading 1000 images (one who was supposed to have some sort of niche market at that). They now have 1 million images and I have made a whopping $3.46 after 10 months. I think I will stay with contributing to one charitable agency per year (unfortunately my loss of time is not tax deductible).

looks like you can only upload 1 file at a time - and even that doesnt work very well - after you select ONE image, you must add caption, tags, location, category before it uploads, and then it ignores any IPTC
definitely not ready for prime time

But it sounds ideal for uploading those cell phone photos :)
-
Horrible!
-
are you paying for uploads?
how many sales are you getting a month at this point, and what is the projected sales a year from now?
just looking for incentives that may interest contributots to upload to yet another new site that looks like all the other sites in the bottom of the low earners list to the right...

50% + subs >40cents
FTP
No categories
IPTC upload of keywords etc.
No BS about overtaking the world and you'll do it without advertising.

Brilliant - Yorkshire rocks!
