Title: App Crashes with no Apparent Reason and Metadata Saved Lost
Post by: sunflowerstock on March 13, 2015, 23:27
Hi there,

Another big issue today.

I have input keywords on a small batch of photos. After done, click on Save button, All OK.

I input the title, categories, click on Save button, All OK.

Select the photos I want to Upload and click on "Upload selected" button, All ok. The app start regularity to upload the photos to the selected agencies.

After a while (upload process in the background) it open automatically the popup "Saving Metadata Changes" and it stay open for a while (not sure how much time, around 30 seconds I guess). In the meantime I notice that the progress bar is not moving at all.

Then the app suddenly close without any warning, NOTHING!

I launch the APP again and I notice that all Keywords are GONE!!

Sorry to say, I feel a bit exploited, I am wasting a lot of time with StockSubmitter and spending more time to restart the app that be productive.
Don't get me wrong but I feel more like a beta tester than a customer. I think this apps shall be put on sale only after gone a proper testing cycle on different user scenario.

I really like the concept of this app, I am ready to buy the full license but i will only pay for something that is really working NOT for a beta release.

It will be also interesting to learn about other users experience so to be able to compare.

Available to provide all necessary info to solve all this.

Sincerely,

Tina

This issue is caused by the new metadata writing system.
We are constantly working on improving the program and thus sometimes introducing changes that are not perfectly tested. Honestly, such changes can't be 100% tested because there are lots of different software that write JPEGs and all of these software have their own bugs and issues producing differently corrupted JPEG images.
The metadata writing system is very sensitive thing and it is not easy to make it working with all the images around.
We're doing our best and already fixed most of the issues with it.
Also we're adding free paid subscription months for those who were using paid subscription and encountered this issue as a compensation for this problem.

To fix your issue I'll need an example of the problematic file the program can't save metadata to.
Please send one to the e-mail [email protected] and I'll make sure it's fixed :)
