I'm trying to add a model release form to a video within Stocksubmitter and I'm finding the process a little tricky. It seems that by default, Stocksubmitter makes use of release forms that have already been submitted to the agencies. Though that's not the case with mine. I believe Ive followed the correct steps for attaching a model release form to Stocksubmitter. Though when I return to the main page, it indicates: "No releases attached." Guess I'm doing something wrong?

First you have to add the release (as a Jpeg) to Stock Submitter. You do that in the manage releases section over on the right. Once the release is in the system, you click to select the file (s) you want to add a release to, type part of its name in the release field and select the appropriate release, then click save, and that is it. You should see a small badge over the thumbnail saying MR or PR. When that file is uploaded to an agency, the release goes to the agency with the file.

I'm not sure you can reference releases that are already with the agency that StS knows nothing about. I believe you need to add it to StS first, but the app is intelligent enough to refer to that release once it is aware of it. I don't think it submits a new one every time.

Once the release is in the system

I'm finding that really hard - getting the release form into the system. I clicked on 'Edit attached releases' symbol on the right, then clicked 'Add new' and attached my release (or so I thought) and filled in the relevant details. I also typed the name of the release into that field but it doesn't appear to make any difference. In the end, no release is attached.

The steps you describe in the Edit releases to create a new release sound correct. Presumably you uploaded your release file as part of that step. At that stage, the newly created release should be shown in the Saved Releases section of that dialog. Then I close that dialog and highlight the thumbnails of the files that need the release. I type in the first few characters of the release name in the field under the categories and your release should appear as a choice. Click on that to select it and click save. You can also add releases when your file is selected in the Edit Releases dialog box itself.

Not sure where your steps differ to this? I'm on Windows if that makes a difference.

Yea I'm using Windows as well. I'll follow your steps and see if I have any success.

Okay, Ive tried again. It's still not clear whether the release is attached or not. After I uploaded the release again and filled in the details again, it still said that no release is attached. I closed that box and typed in the name of the release into the blank field but no suggestions popped up - no names or anything like that that I could click on and select. I saved anyway but don't know if that will help.

I think I'll submit the videos anyway and see what happens. If I get rejected for lack of a release, I'll try again.

Make sure the releases you've created appear in the left list. If they didn't, then click the button to create a release, fill out all the fields and create it.
After that you can attach those releases to your footages. To do so, select the footages you want to attach releases to, click the "..." button, select the releases you want to attach in the left list and click the button with a right arrow. It should make the selected releases to go into the right list which is showing the attached releases. After that you can click the Save button and then deselect the footages to see if the "MR" / "PR" icons appeared on them.
