Hi there, are there any known issues with duplicate uploads to Alamy? I've added about 100 photos to microstock.plus about a month ago and they keep getting re-uploaded on Alamy. I now have 4 instances, the 4th one having been uploaded to Alamy this morning. I haven't even logged into microstock.plus in a month as just came back from vacation!

Probably the system doesn't see the files at the website and re-uploading them because it considers them lost by the agency.
You can assign the submitted status manually for the files to stop the system from re-uploading them.

Thanks, I'll try that. Any way to do that systematically?

Also, it's not doing it for the other agency where it has an incorrect status. For example, Shutterstock.

It's doing that only when the following conditions are met:
- files still have 'uploaded' status;
- the system NEVER seen them on the agency website;
- there are no other reasons for the submission to not happen (submissions are not used up, there are no parsing errors, etc.);
- a week has passed since the file been uploaded.

Something must be broken in the 2nd condition then: the files in my case have been uploaded repeatedly to both Alamy & Depositphotos. They have all had successful submissions earlier, so they should definitely have been "seen" on the agency website. Can you look into that?
The 4th rule explains why I've seen 4 uploads (roughly once a week since that batch was initially uploaded) on both Alamy & Depositphotos.

Second condition is definitely working correctly, however, with Alamy it's not so easy because sometimes their website is not returning all the unfinished files when we send a request if the files were too long in QC. So some of them may not be ever 'seen' by M+. But it shouldn't happen all the time normally.
For DP I never heard of such issues so far.

Please send to me an example of a file ID that got uploaded 4 times to those agencies.

Sure thing.
Item ID   5cd7b6affe3b176f1dc29969
It actually got uploaded to Alamy 5 times.
Image ID: TWKP56
Image ID: TD07WY
Image ID: TBME9G
Image ID: TA31RE
Image ID: T8B4CN

Item ID   5cd500a54965f91620cbecf1
Uploaded to Depositphotos 3 times:
275482388
269238366
266739788

There are many more, but it's hard to sift through many similar images. Last 2 uploads on Alamy had 33, the previous 3 had 53, 13 and 53, in reverse chronological order. Not sure about Depositphotos as they don't batch the images.

Hi Dmitry, I am trying to change the status of some photos that are showing as 'File not ready' for Shutterstock. I'm changing the status to submitted and it changes in my list of agencies but when I log out and back in it's showing as 'File not ready' image example would be item 5ca5f11a0bae911704a2f664

Thanks

@SvetlanaSF

According to the logs, those files were uploaded to the agencies websites but you didn't have any submissions left so the system didn't submit them.
Probably you've submitted them manually but didn't change status to 'submitted' so the system assumed the files got lost by the agency and re-uploaded them after a week.
If you submit files manually please mark them as 'submitted' in the web interface.

@2checkingout

Normally you cannot assign the 'submitted' status to files that are not ready. Please fix their metadata issues first.

Can somebody please explain why the 1st agency shows "Submitted 1.", but at the same time still has a submission countdown ticking down despite there's nothing else waiting to be submitted to it? And I assume the ones that show they were uploaded, but still haven't been successfully submitted an hour after, haven't yet been processed by the agencies? Thanks!

@2checkingout

Please look at the error message the system is showing you next to the not ready status icon and try to fix those issues before trying to assign the submitted status.

@notaslave

The program doesn't know whether more ready to be submitted content will appear at the agency website or not, it is just checking every 15 minutes and submitting everything it finds there.
The uploaded status means that, yes, but you could also check the agency website to see did they really not yet appear there.
There also can be some errors after a submission attempt that you can see in the "Errors" button.

How do I do that when there is no indication of what is wrong with the file? File in question is 5ca5f11a0bae911704a2f664

Oh now I see what you mean.
The message is definitely vague.
So what actually happened was this:
The system attempted to submit this file but Shutterstock didn't accept it, stating that there were spam keywords in it. Normally M+ automatically fixes such errors by marking keywords as correct (or removing them if there are too many of them and Shutterstock doesn't accept them), but you've disabled this feature in Shutterstock settings in M+. So the system is reporting that the file is not ready to be submitted (generic message instead of specific one).

I was able to change your image status to Submitted without any problems. If it'll get changed back to that error message, then probably the file is still there in the unfinished section at Shutterstock, so M+ keeps trying to submit it and keeps failing at it because of that error.

I would recommend you to do the following:
- Disable "Don't autofix minor errors" in Shutterstock settings in M+, or
- Correct the keywords of the image in M+ to make sure it contains only keywords accepted by Shutterstock without warnings, or
- Check the Shutterstock unfinished section for this image and remove it if you don't want it to get submitted.

You can check it in StockSubmitter dashboard: https://accounts.stocksubmitter.com/

M+ is using StockSubmitter subscription at the moment, as stated in the FAQ article :)

Is it normal for DreamsTime FTP uploads to not show up on their website for 48+ hours? And hence, metadata for these files still hasn't been submitted by the StockSubmitter (as it can't see any of the files on DT), while 4 other agencies I currently submit to were marked as "meta submitted" in no more than 24 hours, some a lot sooner. Is there a problem with DreamsTime FTP maybe? Thanks!

You see DT "stuck" at "Uploaded" below, while all others have been "Submitted" long ago.

Anyone successful in uploading to DreamsTime the last two days?

Here is my correspondence with DreamsTime:

Hello,

about 48 hours ago I uploaded 3 video files to your FTP server (using StockSubmitter) and they still don't show up on your website for meta editing. https://www.dreamstime.com/uploadhistory.php says I have 0 uploads. Please let me know if there is a problem I am not aware of...

Best Regards,
X

Hi X,

Thank you for contacting us. I believe there may be an FTP glitch that we are trying to pinpoint. If you would, please try uploading the same videos again, and provide me with the following 3 full browser FTP screenshots showing the following:

The videos in the queue ready to upload (please make sure the file sizes are clearly visible);
The videos in process of uploading;
The final screen should either show an error message or a files processed successfully. If instead it starts over, take a screenshot of that as your third one.

I don't think he understood I was using StockSubmitter to upload as he kept referring to the browser, but he also didnt mention he can see the 3 files I uploaded, despite StockSubmitter clearly showing them as uploaded.

It doesn't matter if you upload with StockSubmitter or directly via FTP, it's exactly the same.
Hence he didn't say anything about StockSubmitter.
So it seems they currently have some FTP processing issues, you can try sending them the screenshots they've requested.

You can check it in StockSubmitter dashboard: https://accounts.stocksubmitter.com/
M+ is using StockSubmitter subscription at the moment, as stated in the FAQ article :)

I can't log into that account anymore, after I got access to Microstockplus so I really have no way of knowing my stats.
But also, don't you think it's important to have some sort of feedback/notification to users to let them know they have run out of submissions, even if only to prevent these painful multiple submissions, like what I'm dealing with?

What happens when you try to log into it?

Yes, it is planned to notify users on M+ about that, I apologize for the inconvenience :(
